Obama speaks under large banner of man who claimed to fight for Hitler ally

While visiting Israel this week, Barack Obama spoke alongside Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority. Hanging directly behind and above Obama was a larger-than-life-sized poster of Yasser Arafat. Based on Arafat’s ideology and at least one of his mentors, there’s not much difference between a banner of Arafat and one of Hitler.

Arafat once boasted of having fought for Hitler’s most prominent Arab ally, Hajj Amin al-Husseini. Here’s an excerpt from Walid’s latest book, The Case FOR Islamophobia:

…Arafat became a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.[6] Arafat himself claims to have fought for al-Husseini in 1948 according to a 2002 interview he gave.[7] Some reports place Arafat under the direct tutelage of al-Husseini in 1946, when the former was seventeen years-old.[8] It has been widely accepted that Arafat was likely the nephew of al-Husseini. This could have contributed to his early success and rise within the Muslim Brotherhood. He reportedly referred to al-Husseini as his ‘hero’.[9, 10] – The Case FOR Islamophobia, p. 33

Perhaps Obama’s connections to a man named Rashid Khalidi make the banner below even a bit more disturbing. Khalidi once worked for the PLO and then became a professor at Columbia University. Like the Weather Underground’s Bill Ayers, Khalidi has shared a friendship with Obama, which leads to another excerpt from the book:

Obama came to know Khalidi when the latter was a professor at the University of Chicago. In 2003, Khalidi took a position with Columbia University. At his farewell dinner, both Obama and Ayers were in attendance… As for connections to Nazism, consider that Khalidi was a spokesman for Yasser Arafat, who had extensive ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, which closely allied with Hitler during WWII. Ayers, according to sworn testimony from Larry Grathwohl, the only man to successfully infiltrate the Weather Underground for the FBI, insists that Ayers sought the elimination of “25 million people” who could not be successfully “re-educated into the new way of thinking” after the overthrow of the US government.[67] – The Case FOR Islamophobia, p. 324-325

Would Obama agree to speak in front of a large banner of Adolf Hitler? If no, then why would he agree to speak in front of a large banner that features Yasser Arafat?
