Video: Leaders of Al-Qaeda in Yemen and Syria from same clan as former ‘person of interest’ (Saudi) in Boston

As Walid wrote about here, Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the 20 year-old Saudi student who was briefly a ‘person of interest’ in the Boston marathon bombings, comes from a clan that is home to several Al-Qaeda members and former Gitmo detainees.

In the case of Muhammad Atiq Uwaid Al-Awufi Al-Harbi (#73), he became the leader of Al-Qaeda in Yemen after he was released from Gitmo. Muhammad Salem Al-Harbi was the leader of Al-Qaeda in Syria before he was killed last year.

Of the 85 Al-Qaeda members identified by Saudi Arabia, six are members of the Alharbi clan.

#15 Badr Saud Uwaid Al-Awufi Al-Harbi
#73 Muhammad Atiq Uwaid Al-Awufi Al-Harbi
#26 Khalid Salim Uwaid Al-Lahibi Al-Harbi
#29 Raed Abdullah Salem Al-Thahiri Al-Harbi
#43 Abdullah Abdul Rahman Muhammad Al-Harbi (leader)
#60 Fayez Ghuneim Humeid Al-Hijri Al-Harbi

Then you have Al-Harbi clan members in Gitmo:

Salim Salman Awadallah Al-Sai’di Al-Harbi
Majid Abdullah Hussein Al-Harbi
Muhammad Abdullah Saqr Al-Alawi Al-Harbi
Ghanem Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al-Harbi
Muhammad Atiq Uwaid Al-Awfi Al-Harbi

More from the Al-Harbi clan, we found Al-Qaeda terrorists issued from the Saudi Interior Ministry:

#18 Adel Radi Saqr Al-Wahabi Al-Harbi, one of the most wanted Al-Qaeda terrorists by the United States:

“al-Harbi is an Iran-based senior al-Qaida facilitator and serves as the deputy to Muhsin al-Fadhli. In his capacity as the number two to al-Fadhli, al-Harbi facilitates the travel of extremists to Afghanistan or Iraq via Iran on behalf of al-Qaida and is believed to have sought funds to support al-Qaida attacks.”

#36 Feisal Mu’tad Muqbil Al-Mreikhan Al-Harbi
#45 Walid Jarbou’ Eid Al-Jalidi Al-Harbi
#47 Yasser Dakhil Nafi’ Al-Wahbi Al-Harbi

According to Saudi government, there are currently 11,000 Al-Qaeda members, affiliates and sympathizers in Saudi prison.

Here is a video tribute to Muhammad Salem Al-Harbi, who is not on the aforementioned list of 85 above, in part, because he was in Syria, a fight the Saudis support.
