CAIR: DOJ should go after Zimmerman on Civil Rights

CAIR – the Council on American Islamic Relations – is predictably on the side of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Eric Holder when it comes to George Zimmerman. Despite the lack of evidence necessary to prosecute, the case was prosecuted. Despite Zimmerman’s acquittal, Trayvon Martin’s civil rights were apparently abused.

Via CAIR National:

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization, today welcomed a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announcement that it is reviewing the civil rights issues associated with the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last year in Sanford, Fla.

CAIR said the DOJ should investigate whether George Zimmerman violated Martin’s civil rights by apparently engaging in racial profiling prior to the deadly shooting. Zimmerman was found not guilty of state murder charges Saturday night by a Florida jury. That verdict resulted in protests nationwide.

With regard to civil rights, CAIR is conspicuously absent when talking about the case of Homaidan al-Turki, a Saudi who was convicted in 2006 of imprisoning an Indonesian minor and sexually molesting her. Slavery is not the least bit uncommon in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Turki: Convicted racist, slave holder, and rapist (CAIR worried about Zimmerman instead)

If CAIR was truly interested in the protection of civil rights, it would be fighting the Saudi attempts – which are far and wide – to have al-Turki released.

CAIR should condemn this video but it never will, which speaks volumes about its motives in supporting civil rights charges against Zimmerman – division in America, not justice.
