This week the Muslims in Nigeria slaughtered 145 people. They killed thirty people in the village of Shawa, 18 people in Alagarno and Bulakurbe, and another 118 in the Christian area of Jos. In the latter of the attacks, in the words of an eyewitness, “People were using wheelbarrows to move bodies and limbs,” in a most horrifying attack filled with carnage and cruelty.
The violence in Jos was described by one analysis:
The attacks targeted a crowded market and a hospital, and the second blast went off 30 minutes after the first – killing rescue workers who had rushed to the scene.
Apagu Maidugu, a resident of Alagarno, recounted the horrifying sight of their village razed to flames and the complete loss of their belongings:
It was their shooting that actually woke us up; it was about 3 a.m. when we began to hear distant shootings and explosions so we had to scamper out of our houses and flee into the bush… We saw our village up in flames as we hid in the bush waiting for the dawn; we lost everything
As they butchered the innocent people of Shawa, the locals heard the murderers scream out “Allahu Akbar!” Truly this was a religious act, done for the purpose of shedding blood to appease their false god. Musa Yakubu, a resident of Shawa, said:
It happened at about 4 a.m., when we began to hear the sounds of vehicles, then it was followed by shooting of guns; we immediately knew we were in trouble
Vigilantes fighting Boko Haram came to the village only to see the entire premises deserted, and the earth covered with corpses. A vigilante spokeswoman said:
Our men in Damboa had visited the village in the morning and reported to us that the village which is close to Kilakisa community along Biu-Maiduguri highway had been deserted; and they had to help gather the corpses for burial
This is the reality Christians face everyday, and we must strive and strongly work to help them. Help us rescue Christians being persecuted right now. PLEASE CLICK HERE TO MAKE A DONATION TO SAVE CHRISTIAN LIVES IN PAKISTAN, SYRIA, IRAQ AND SOMALIA
