George Clooney Can’t Handle the Truth about Obama and Sudan

By Ben Barrack

Earlier this week, Theodore wrote an article in response to actor George Clooney’s article with John Predergast about the mass genocide of Christians and Muslims in Sudan at the hands of Omar al-Bashir. It’s good that Clooney is concerned about al-Bashir’s atrocities but he doesn’t seem to understand that by supporting Obama, he’s actually helping al-Bashir gain more prominence:

When Clooney realizes he's been a dupe.

When Clooney realizes he’s been a dupe.

To expound on Ted’s point, Clooney obviously understands the genocidal nature of al-Bashir when the actor writes:

For the people of Sudan, the terror that the Janjaweed inspire on the ground is matched only by the terror from the air. Sudan’s Air Force has acquired more accurate bomber planes and more destructive bombs to intensify its aerial assault against civilian targets in the war zones, in total defiance of feckless UN Security Council resolutions. Our Satellite Sentinel Project captures frequent satellite imagery of communities leveled by bombing raids. So far, that evidence has been ignored.

Clooney also understands the truth about who’s behind the notorious Joseph Kony as well when he writes:

Let’s also remember that the government in Khartoum is the same one behind an array of crimes and atrocities. The regime provides sanctuary to Joseph Kony and the Lord’s Resistance Army in a South Darfur enclave, sponsors Janjaweed elements…

About a year ago, after we learned that Barack Obama’s brother Malik was in bed with the regime of Omar al-Bashir, I wrote an article entitled, “Paging George Clooney… Brother of President You Live is in Bed with the Sudanese Government you Hate”, which had to do with the paradox in which George Clooney necessarily finds himself. As the Executive Secretary of the Islamic Da’Wa Organization overseen by al-Bashir, Malik Obama is in the employ of the man Clooney has such a problem with.

To boot, Clooney loves Barack Obama. Just a couple of months ago, Clooney got into a heated exchange with Hotel and casino developer Steve Wynn. Clooney went to the mat for his buddy, Barack and was quoted in a local paper as saying the following about Wynn:

“He called the president an asshole … that is a fact … I said the President was my longtime friend and then he said ‘your friend is an asshole.’ … At that point I told Steve that HE was an asshole and I wasn’t going to sit at his table while he was being such a jackass.

“And I walked out. There were obviously quite a few more adjectives and adverbs used by both of us. Those are all the facts. It had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with character.”

In his article about Sudan’s al-Bashir, Clooney said his “evidence has been ignored”. If anyone knows about that, Mr. Clooney, we do. In fact, YOU have ignored it.

Clooney apparently doesn’t understand that he is the one ignoring a crucial fact that – if he admitted – might cause him to agree with Wynn instead of defending Obama.

The irony is that in being one of Obama’s biggest supporters, Clooney is actually empowering the family that is supporting and enriching al-Bashir. In 2012, Clooney put on a record fundraiser for Obama’s reelection campaign ($15 Million) while Malik Obama – a devout Muslim – was contributing to al-Bashir’s efforts:

In the days after the infamous Kony 2012 video went viral, reaching 100 million views faster than any other video in history, Clooney got in on some of the action by staging a protest outside the Sudanese embassy where he demanded humanitarian aid be sent to Sudan and that al-Bashir stop killing people:

One day prior to that protest, Clooney met with Obama at the White House. It’s logical to conclude that the protest outside Sudan’s embassy one day later was discussed as it included the head of the NAACP and a handful of U.S. Congressmen. One such congressman was Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), who was long ago compromised by stealth jihadists.

As Shoebat.com has revealed, Moran has known the former chairman of the notorious Dar al-Hijrah mosque – Bassam Estwani – for years. Estwani has a history of being a very high profile mover and shaker in political circles. He is perhaps the most high-ranking and successful Muslim Brotherhood stealth jihadist in the U.S. As such, he sympathizes greatly with Omar al-Bashir, who is also Muslim Brotherhood. That Clooney would protest outside the Sudan embassy while expressing solidarity with Moran is laughable, no laudable.

As for a course of action Clooney advocates in his piece with Predergast, they write:

First, the US needs to intensify diplomatic efforts to help create a single, unified, broadly inclusive peace process across all Sudan that can address root causes and lead to real democratic transformation. Join us in pressing for the deployment of a senior US official to work full-time on Sudan’s peace process with a small team of experts and diplomats to support African and UN mediators.

Second, the US needs to rebuild its influence in Khartoum, and the best way to do that is through the regime’s wallet. The US government must give the Treasury Department the resources it needs to follow the money enabling mass atrocities, and enforce sanctions against complicit actors. Short of military intervention, which is off the table, going after the stolen wealth of the regime’s elite will grab their attention like no other action.

As to Clooney’s first bright idea, if he knows about Malik Obama’s connection to al-Bashir and has somehow been convinced that the President’s brother is engaged in some sort of double agent diplomacy, the actor is a bigger dupe than we thought. Obama has actually been working toward taking Sudan off the State Sponsors of Terrorism list.

One way Clooney could test such a theory would be to ask President Obama to engage Malik to lobby al-Bashir to release a persecuted Christian woman named Meriam Ibrahim, who has been sentenced to 100 lashes for committing adultery simply because her husband is a Christian and not Muslim. Unless Ibrahim converts to Islam, she will be put to death. Instead of speaking generally, perhaps Clooney should put his buddy Barack to the test by getting specific.

If Clooney doesn’t know about Malik’s role with al-Bashir, the Obama family is doubled over with laughter behind Clooney’s back.

Regarding Clooney’s second proposition, perhaps he should start with the tax-exempt status of Malik Obama’s Barack H. Obama Foundation (BHOF), granted by none other than Lois Lerner herself. BHOF was given illegal tax-exempt status, no doubt thanks to the Obama name.

Lost on Clooney that as a U.S. taxpayer, he’s actually funding that which he professes to despise, all the while supporting a President who is enabling it.
