Two Democratic Senators Call for Resignation of CIA Director who Allegedly Converted to Islam

When two Democratic Congressmen stray from the Obama reservation, it’s a rare day. When two Democratic Senators do so, it’s virtually unheard of and represents an extremely significant event. That happened today when U.S. Senators Mark Udall (D-CO) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) called for the resignation of CIA Director John Brennan, whom former FBI Agent John Guandolo contends – based on eyewitnesses – converted to Islam while stationed in Saudi Arabia in the 1990’s.

Obama and Brennan: Two alleged Muslims.

Obama and Brennan: Two alleged Muslims.

Though charges that Brennan converted to Islam comport with his behavior around and treatment of Muslims, his apparent conversion was not the reason for catching the ire of Democrat Senators. That reason had to do with an admission by the Agency’s Inspector General that the CIA illegally accessed Senate computers.

“At this point it would probably be better for the agency, frankly, if he did step aside. I think that the level of trust between the committee and the director has hit a new low,” Heinrich told reporters. He said he had not spoken to Brennan recently.

As for Udall’s statements, the Senator from Colorado referred to the snooping as a “tremendous failure of leadership”.

In addition to these two Senators, Senate Intelligence Committe Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) was also rankled by the revelations. Feinstein, who carries far more pull than either Udall or Heinrich, received a call accompanied with an apology from Brennan and was sufficiently satiated, as evidenced by her reaction when asked about her being on the receiving end of a political colonoscopy:

“I’m not going to get into that now, thank you though,” she said.

What’s important here is that if Brennan was indeed the target of a counter-intelligence operation by Saudi intelligence that resulted in his conversion to Islam – as Guandolo maintains quite adamantly – he would have a motive to have the agency under his purview access said computers.

Furthermore, if Brennan is a domestic enemy with loyalties to Islam, he is an agent of the Obama administration. It is also the duty and responsibility of said administration to vet, debunk, or confirm Guandolo’s charges. It hasn’t done any of those things, which would make Obama a complicit – not innocent – player.

To illustrate this, check out this video from Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) in an exchange with Attorney General Eric Holder last year. Holder and Brennan serve in completely separate capacities but Holder sounds like Brennan in this exchange:
