Pastor Wants to make Friends with Muslims and Crocodiles to Stop ISIS

“An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.” – Sir Winston Churchill.

There are leftists who agree with the ideology of Islam and then there are leftists who are simply afflicted with Stockholm syndrome, a condition whereby hostages sympathize with their captors in hopes of favorable treatment. This only emboldens the hostage-takers because it reinforces their behavior.

That leads to a sign outside a church in Australia:

Parramatta Mission has taken a strong stand on community relations with a controversial sign challenging people to “make friends with a Muslim”.

The sign outside the Uniting Church in Macquarie St says, “The best way to defeat ISIL is to make friends with a Muslim.”

Mission chief executive Keith Hamilton said the organisation knew the billboard could be controversial but it was about sending a strong message.

“We understood it might make us a target but sometimes you just have to do the right thing,” he said.

Strong message? To who?

Here is how Hamilton puts it:

“Our view is that we need to make friends with everyone.

Some people have been disparaging of Muslims and of other minority groups in the community but we believe everyone should be treated with respect.

If we ostracise sections of the community, people such as youths who are trying to work out their identity can be radicalised.”

Any Christian church must understand one very simple concept. That concept is good vs. evil. By making friends with “everyone”, Hamilton is advocating that his sheep make friends with wolves. How did making friends with the serpent in the garden help Adam and Eve?

Does Hamilton believe western civilization should have embraced the Nazis?

The message on the church sign communicates one very simple message to all Muslims – weakness. It’s a message to ISIS that says intimidation works. It’s a message to Muslims that the church has been successfully intimidated and that the pastor has decided to feed the crocodiles.

However, this doesn’t appear to be a matter of Hamilton turning over a new leaf.

Mr Hamilton said the church had a long history of co-operation with the local Islamic community which used to hold its prayer meetings on the Mission property before the Parramatta Mosque was established.

He said an interfaith prayer day last weekend was indicative of the Mission’s commitment to being inclusive.

“We had Christians, Muslims, Seikhs, Hindus and Jews – more than 200 people came together to share prayers,” he said.

Ah, the old interfaith / co-exist movement that is really just a stealth one-way street.

Check out this example as reported by Shoebat.com. In the first photo, a Christian pastor is wearing an “interfaith” stole and is flanked by two Muslims dressed in western attire. One is Bassam Estwani, former chairman of the Dar al-Hijrah mosque that was home to Anwar al-Awlaki and visited by no fewer than two 9/11 hijackers. The other is Rateb al-Nabulsi:

Compare that pastor’s stole with the anti-Semitic / Muslim-only stole worn by al-Nabulsi at a different event:
