A Soldier’s Last Will and Testament

“Mama, I love you very much. Do not weep if I am killed. I love you very much. Do not weep. Take care of Hamadeh. Do not fear and have joy. Do not fear. I will give myself in. No I’d rather shoot myself than surrender. There is no one left to hold this fort but us. Pray for me mama pray for me [he starts weeping]” and then silence.

These are the last words by this unknown Syrian soldier:

His regiment were mostly killed as ISIS terrorists closed in as he heard the bullets get louder and louder. Knowing that there was no hope and knowing his time was up he began to think about his mother and left her this short recording. The phone was captured by ISIS and they downloaded the recording on youtube to make fun of him.

He can be seen with a head wound as the bullets were getting closer and closer and he was completely sure that he was going to die. At such moments, one can get religious. There was nothing he can do to change his fate. Reality is not a movie were in the last moments an air strike appears out of nowhere and drop a bomb at the enemy.

We read the news everyday and to us they are simply numbers and statistics of casualties. This reminds us of the human side and the emotions of how we all can suffer. At times the last moments are a few words to the one you love the most and all the words you can say or emotions you can express are the usual fears one experiences back in childhood.

People think that death is a bad subject of discussion. But perhaps the best way to live life is to think that you will die today. What would you do and how will you treat your mother and father, your wife, your children, friends and your fellow man, no matter where he/she is from?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, for whosoever believes in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life.”

God caused His only begotten Son to die and the Good News is that He resurrected and conquered the sting of death.

Thats really good news.
