Navy SEAL Explains What Motivated Him to Kill Bin Laden

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. – John 15:13

A Navy SEAL named Rob O’Neill is coming forward and identifying himself as the man who fired the fatal shot on Osama bin Laden. While his decision to do so has been a source of controversy, excerpts from a series of interviews he granted to a freelance journalist should give people a new appreciation for what motivates America’s warriors.

That motivation is truly the defense of their country and the protection of its people. In the audio recording below, O’Neill speaks of being motivated by things like the thought of a single mom’s “last gesture of human dignity was straightening out her skirt” before jumping from a burning WTC tower. O’Neill spoke of these things while also admitting that his team resolved themselves to the reality that they were going to die but wanted to do it anyway.

Throughout the recording, you will hear O’Neill refer to Cantor Fitzgerald. This is in reference to a financial services firm that operated near the top of one of the towers and lost many of its employees on 9/11. In another look into the selfless nature of true warriors, O’Neill talked about closure, saying military guys don’t need it, victims do, which is what also motivated him.

Another thing that comes through is that even a guy who cusses a lot can still lay down his life for his countrymen (h/t Breitbart):
