Obama Advisor Takes BIG HITS on Benghazi and Bergdahl on Same Day

White House Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes was dealt two major political blows, each on the same day. On one front, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer (Ret.) appeared on the O’Reilly Factor and broke some shocking news about the case of Bowe Bergdahl. On another front, legal watchdog Judicial Watch has reported that it has obtained documents as a result of its FOIA lawsuit against the State Department. Last April, Rhodes was revealed as the author of the infamous ‘smoking gun’ Benghazi email that instructed then U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to claim a demonstration took place in Benghazi before the attack.

Rhodes: Dealt Two Major Blows on Same Day.

First, according to Shaffer, the Pentagon decided to buck the White House by bringing desertion charges against Bowe Bergdahl, who was traded for five Taliban commanders and $5 Billion, according to an earlier claim by Shaffer, as Shoebat.com reported.

Shaffer went on to say that there is a “titanic” battle going on behind the scenes between the Pentagon – which wants to prosecute the case based on the merits and the facts – and the White House, which wants to continue stonewalling. The point man for the White House identified as being at the tip of Obama’s spear in this fight is Rhodes, whose brother is the President of CBS News (the same outfit that forced journalist Sharyl Attkisson out). Last year, Ben Rhodes was also identified as the author of the ‘smoking gun’ Benghazi email that finally precipitated the formation of the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

Aside from the sibling relationship being one that should ethically require one or both of the Rhodes’ brothers to resign, CBS News has come nowhere close to doing its journalistic duty with respect to either Benghazi or the Bergdahl case. Doing so would require David to sign off on his network holding his brother accountable. Instead, his most Pulitzer-worthy journalist, who Broke story after story in both the Operation Fast and Furious as well as Benghazi, was forced out.

Second, as for Judicial Watch’s FOIA lawsuit against the State Department, newly obtained documents are reported to show that the State Department knew the U.S. Special Mission Compound (SMC) in Benghazi was the target of an attack, and not home to a demonstration, in real time, as it was taking place.

Note: regular readers of Shoebat.com are familiar with our stance that the lack of a demonstration prior to an attack does not mean the Innocence of Muslims video played no role.

Judicial Watch released this information on the same day that Shaffer was breaking news on the O’Reilly Factor that the Pentagon was fighting with Rhodes over Bergdahl. In an update on day later, JW posted a link to a document released by the U.S. Embassy in Tunisia just one day after the Bengahzi attacks. To read the entire document, click here.

Moreover, in that now infamous email sent by Rhodes on September 14, 2012, the one recipient who has not received any real mention deserves perhaps the most. One of the people who received the September 14, 2012 email from Rhodes was a man named Mehdi K. Alhassani, who has tangible connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, as Shoebat.com first revealed:

Alhassani a recipient on email three days after Benghazi attacks.
