Muslims in Syria — all members of ISIS — entered the village of Qaryatain with fire arms, kidnapping over sixty Christians, and also 160 others. Local activists said:
Daesh (IS) kidnapped 160 Sunnis and more than 60 Christians in the al-Qaryatain town in Homs province on charges of having links with the Syrian regime
Before the Islamist revolution struck Syria there were 2000 Christians living in the area of Qaryatain, but after the jihadist uprising the majority of them left. ISIS arrived to the town, and after a fight with Syrian forces, won the victory and now dominate the area. Muhammad Shami, a local media activist, said:
Fierce clashes broke out on Wednesday between Daesh (IS) and pro-Assad forces, ending with Daesh’s control over Al-Qaryatain town on Thursday afternoon
The head of the Syrian Observatory recounted:
Daesh [the Arabic term for ISIS] kidnapped at least 230 people, including at least 60 Christians, during a sweep through Al-Qaryatain
Nuri Kino, the founder of Assyrian advocacy group A Demand For Action, confirmed the kidnapping, saying:
250 people are still missing. 1,500 people fled to the churches of Homs, water, medicine, food is needed immediately… They are tired, they are exhausted from fleeing. [Unidentified negotiators] are trying to negotiate and beg ISIS to release them since there are children and women among them who are innocent
Benjamin Decker, analyst at the Tel Aviv-based geopolitical risk consultancy The Levantine Group, gave the grim assessment that the chances of the Christians being released are very grim:
I don’t really see a good chance of them being released, whether they are kept in captivity, sold as sex slaves or killed,” he says. “The prospect of their release is very slim … I don’t think we are in a situation where they will be offering a ransom for their release… This was a political intelligence operation to disrupt some sort of governance that was existing in the town before they entered.
A hand written list of the names of the Christians was released and Zaid Benjamin posted it up on his Twitter page:

And we really don’t! We have no time for superficial politics; no time for equivocation; no time for vacillation. America should only do one thing and that is rescue persecuted Christians from this hell. But they are not doing this. Over twenty Christians fled ISIS and came to America, only to be arrested as illegal aliens, while the current administration has provided millions of people from Mexico with amnesty. Why can’t the same treatment be given to these persecuted Christians? Because the state does not wish to be an instrument of God, but an instrument of the devil, and so it becomes the diabolical’s acolyte, advancing the cause for the forces of darkness. If Donald Trump wins, I exhort him to do the will of God and fight for the cause of our brethren!
