ISRAEL: Jewish mother of six savagely slaughtered in front of her children by an Arab Muslim terrorist

By BI: Dafna Meir, 39,  was at home with three of her six children  in the Judean town of Otniel, located in the Hebron hills, when an Arab Muslim man got into her home. Meir struggled with the terrorist in the entrance way in an attempt to keep him away from her children, during which she suffered multiple stab wounds which proved fatal. She is survived by her husband Natan and six children Renana, 17, Akiva, 15, Noa, 11, Ahava, 10, Yair, 6, Yaniv 4. The youngest two are adopted.

Breaking Israel News  The terrorist then fled the scene of the attack, which had been witnessed by Meir’s 15-year-old daughter. She later told police what had happened and described the attacker to security forces, who are currently combing the area to find traces of him.

The assailant is believed to have escaped to a nearby Arab village. Overnight, five Palestinians in the area of the settlement were detained in connection with the attack, and another 22 were detained after sweeps across the West Bank.

While there is security camera footage of the terrorist escaping from the gated community on foot, there is no evidence of him breaking in. Security forces have said it is likely that he was a construction worker employed in Otniel.

The neighborhood was put on lockdown following the attack, with residents being advised to stay inside. On Monday, all Palestinian workers were banned from entering Jewish communities in the area.

JPost Meir was a nurse at Soroka University Medical Center in Beersheba. Soroka said in a statement that Meir had been a “treasured and professional nurse” in the hospital’s neurosurgery department, and that she “was beloved by her peers and patients. Giving to others was a part of both her personal and professional life.”

Noam Bar, a senior paramedic with Magen David Adom and colleague of Meir’s, described the heartbreak of paramedics who tried unsuccessfully to revive Meir and of removing her children from the scene when some of them tried to help.

Bar said Meir “was unconscious, with no breath or pulse. She suffered from stab wounds to her upper body. We attempted to resuscitate her for a lengthy period of time, at the end of which we were forced to pronounce her dead.”

It was the first time Palestinian terrorists have executed a fatal attack inside an Israeli home since March 2011 when five members of the Fogel family were stabbed to death in their home in Itamar.
