One Man Murdered And Three Injured In Attack On Local Political Candidate By Drug Cartels

(May 26 2018) One person has been murdered and three injured in an attack on a local political candidate running for deputy in Mexico by drug cartels:

A man died and three others were injured in an attack against the campaign team of a candidate for a local deputy in central Mexico, reported the National Action Party (PAN).

In a statement, the conservative party condemned the attack and showed solidarity with the family of Juan Carlos Martínez Alvarado, who lost his life, and with the wounded, These four people were part of the campaign team of Ricardo Villarreal, candidate for deputy in the City of San Luis Potosí, capital of the homonymous state.

Armed men attacked the campaign house of the PAN candidate to local deputy in SLP, Ricardo Villarreal, the brigadista Juan Carlos Martínez died. Three more people were injured, “This crime should not go unpunished, so the PAN requires the authorities to find the authors of this crime that affects National Action and the entire society of Potosina,” said the political group.

Likewise, he demanded that in this electoral period, which will culminate with the elections on July 1, the security of “citizenship in general, including candidates and their teams, is guaranteed.”

National Action condemns the violence and reiterates its commitment and solidarity with the causes that pay for peace, concludes the statement.
