**SHOEBAT EXCLUSIVE**
The truth about the 9/11 attacks was in plain sight soon afterward. That it was ignored is evidenced by the fact that the Dar al-Hijrah terrorist mosque is still in operation. The truth about the Fort Hood jihad attack on November 5, 2009 is that it could have been prevented had Dar al-Hijrah been shut down. Former U.S. Congressman, Rep. Thomas Davis (R-VA) should have demanded it by shouting from rooftops. Not only are the 14 deaths at Fort Hood a result of Davis’ sins of both commission and omission but so is the fact that the survivors don’t have purple hearts and are dishonored by being told their injuries were the result of ‘workplace violence’.
In a shocking discovery, a significant reason why the 2009 Fort Hood jihadist attack has officially been designated as ‘workplace violence’ instead of as an act of jihadist terrorism may have to do with the shameful actions of Davis. It was Davis who elevated Bassam Estwani, chairman of Dar al-Hijrah to prominence; the mosque was in his district. Estwani, whom Shoebat.com has been writing about extensively lately [here, here, here], is both a key figure and a big fish, who wielded significant political influence:
Had Davis come clean and demanded justice relative to the goings-on inside Dar al-Hijrah after 9/11, there’s no telling what could have been prevented. Unfortunately, he did not. In fact, Estwani continued to schmooze with prominent politicians like Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA):
It was Estwani who essentially hired Nidal Malik Hasan’s Muslim hero Anwar al-Awlaki as the Dar al-Hijrah mosque’s imam in 2001. Estwani returned to the mosque nearly two years after the jihad attack at Fort Hood and delivered a sermon. It was Estwani who was employing the Muslim Brotherhood’s Muruna (Click here for explanation of this tactic). According to the Washington Post, Estwani pleaded ignorance about al-Awlaki’s motives:
“Before he came to Dar Al-Hijrah, I didn’t know anything about him,” said Bassam Estwani, one of the early founders of Dar Al-Hijrah and former chairman of the board. “Brothers from California recommended him as a good scholar.”
Estwani said he was stunned by Aulaqi’s later evolution into a radical extremist, describing him as, “very nice, very disciplined, polite, helpful to everyone. Never saw any sign of extremist thinking. He was a scholar, spoke both languages, Arabic and English, very well. I wondered to myself afterward is he the same person who spoke here?”
These are clearly lies from Estwani, as evidenced by his welcoming virulent anti-Semite and Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi to the mosque prior to al-Qaradawi being banned from the U.S. in 1999 due to terrorism:
Estwani’s comments resemble comments made by Awlaki after the 9/11/01 attacks. According to the New York Times, Al-Awlaki said the following about one month after 9/11:
“In the past we were oblivious. We didn’t really care much because we never expected things to happen. Now I think things are different. What we might have tolerated in the past, we won’t tolerate any more.”
Obviously, that was a lie as well. Al-Awlaki was an inspirational figure to Fort Hood jihadist Nidal Malik Hasan, who also visited Dar al-Hijrah, as reported by the New York Times.
In the years since 9/11 and Fort Hood, Estwani has been living quite luxuriously while the attack’s victims still have not received justice. Here are some leaked photos obtained by Shoebat.com that show Estwani having a great time with another Dar al-Hijrah mosque imam / terrorist, Shaker Elsayed:
To further underscore the blatant lies of that come out of any and all officials of Dar al-Hijrah, consider a man by the name of Shaker Elsayed. He became an imam at Dar al-Hijrah in 2005, years after he said the following just three months before 9/11 in response to a question about whether he supported Hamas:
“I made a statement that we do support the Palestinian resistance…The so-called Israeli settlers are not civilian population. They are military reserves, they are armed, trained and dangerous. They invade the Palestinian neighborhoods at night and squander everything. They kill, maim, and destroy homes. If I were there, I would use every power in my hand to defend my family.”
Elsayed also defended suicide bombings at a conference sponsored by Muslim Brotherhood front group, the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), years before becoming a Dar al-Hijrah imam:
“And about the subject unfairly named suicide bombers, homicide bombers, or murderers, or killers…. To decide that this man is a martyr or not a martyr, it is a pure[ly] religious matter. Nobody who is not Muslim has any right to decide for us … [T]he Jihad is a must [an obligation] on every man, every child and every woman, [to be waged] with every tool that they can get in their hand.”
Of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al-Banna, Elsayed is quoted as saying he is…
“…the closest reflection of how Islam should be in this life.”
Here is another leaked photo obtained by Shoebat.com of Elsayed and Estwani during their shared visit to Honolulu, Hawaii:
While you’re soaking in the fact that Islamic terrorists from the most notorious terrorist mosque in the U.S. have been living high on the hog – soaking in the Hawaii sun – have a look at this video, which features the victims of the Fort Hood massacre:
Just seven months prior to 9/11, on February 7, 2001, Estwani delivered the opening prayer to a session of Congress. He was invited to do so by Rep. Davis and the visit was approved by then House Speaker Dennis Hastert, also a Republican. To see Estwani deliver the prayer and be praised afterward by Davis, watch this C-SPAN video from the beginning to the 3:45 mark (note how neither the congressman standing in for Speaker Hastert nor Davis could adequately pronounce “Dar al-Hijrah”):
**UPDATE at 5:50am EST on April 28, 2014**
For those inclined to dismiss Davis of any culpability in facilitating a terrorist mosque, consider that he continued to consort with Mr. Estwani for years after 9/11. Here is Estwani with a very senior Republican Senator named John Warner and Davis more than one year after the 9/11 attacks:
Here is Davis and Moran with Estwani several years after the attacks:
