Turkey’s ruling party, the AKP (The Justice and Development Party) has begun to suppress women’s rights to participate in holding public office. In a recent example, the new mayor of the eastern town of Bingol has refused to let women elected to the local municipal council hold positions of responsibility on ”religious and moral grounds”.

We are beginning to see the results of the victory of Erdogan’s AKP party, which Shoebat.com reported on last week. Now the new mayor of the eastern town of Bingöl, elected in last week’s local elections from the ranks of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey, has prohibited women who were elected to the local municipal council to carry out their duties since women in Islam are not to hold such offices.

This change is unusual for many westernized Turkish women who are used to western standards. Day by day, they are seeing their desires and rights rejected. Nurten Ertuğrul was elected after topping the AKP’s list of running candidates for the municipal council and was prevented from being granted the position of deputy mayor.

The situation gets worse for women in Turkey by the day. According to the “Violence against Women in Turkey” conference held by Bilgi University and the Mor Cati Foundation, 40% of women have been physically or sexually abused by their husband or partner. In 2013, women’s rights groups estimated that 28,000 women were exposed to violence, with 214 of those exposures fatal.

In Turkey today women are situated at the bottom of the current political agenda under the AKP Islamist party.

Day by day we can see that Erdogan of Turkey is behaving more like an Antichrist than a Kemalist. He has declared during his speech to the most important Islamist body in the Muslim world – the O.I.C Organization of Islamic Council, saying that “Jerusalem is the apple of the eye of every Muslim” ignoring that Jerusalem is the Apple of the Eye of God. (Zechariah 2:8) The Lord warns, “whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye”.

And now, we are keeping a close focus on the issue of women in Turkey. The more turkey plunges into Islamism, the less chances it has to enter the European Union.

We bring such issues to westerners to consider the prophetic implications and to adjust to the facts on the ground and from scriptural evidence. Western prophecy students focus on a western anti-Christ system. As Shoebat.com stated in the past, Erdogan does not “honor the desire of women” (Daniel 11:37) and is prohibiting them entry into the government while he promoted to stop outlawing the Hijab. Western students of Bible Prophecy think that the verse “he will not honor the desire of women” pertains to his homosexual affiliation since they believe the verse is saying that Antichrist “does not desire women”. But this is far from what the text says. It strictly states that he will “not honor the desire of women”. It is “women’s desires” that is what the verse focuses on and not Antichrist’s. Women’s desires and rights in Turkey are being suppressed.

The antichrist, we believe, comes from Muslim Turkey and not Europe. No French, Italian or German European Union leader made such proclamations as Erdogan did. And as we predicted, Turkey failed entry into the European Union since the beast is the body of a Leopard (The Greco-Roman) and not European, with its feet of the Bear (Iran) and its mouth of the Lion (Arabia/Islam).

Therefore, we must keep our eyes where God instructed in the Bible—Pergamum (Turkey), Lydia, and not Europe, Ionia and not Italy is what the Bible focuses on.
