If you thought the Malik Obama IRS scandal was big, a brand new discovery reveals that according to the website of President Barack Obama’s brother, Malik is officially partnering and working with a cult leader who has been compared to both David Koresh and Jim Jones.

Malik Obama has decided to come out of the closet as a partner with an organization known as the House of Yahweh. Himself a known polygamist, Malik will be meeting with a major cult leader who was sentenced to five years probation in 2009 on charges related to forced child labor and polygamy.

On Good Friday, President Obama’s brother will be visiting the compound of his partner organization in Abilene, TX, founded by Yisrayl Hawkins, a man who has also been identified as a false prophet. As a Muslim, Malik is treading on territory that is taboo as Islam views it as blasphemous for anyone to declare himself a prophet.

According to an AP report, authorities are concerned about a tragic ending to the cult not dissimilar from that of Koresh or Jones.

The event is billed as the Peaceful Solution Character Education Convention and will be held at the House of Yahweh Auditorium.

The Associated Press identified HOY as a “darker sect” than the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS). Hawkins was arrested in early 2008 and faced up to 20 years in prison on charges that he performed polygamous weddings and forced young children to work at the compound.

Despite being faced with the prospect of going away for a very long time, Hawkins escaped a prison sentence in 2009 by pleading no contest to bigamy charges and getting probation in four cases involving child labor violations. His punishment amounted to $8,000 in fines and five years probation. In return, the bigamy charges were dropped.

While justice wasn’t served in that case, the judge who rendered the sentence expressed concerns at the time that injustices were still taking place inside the compound, saying:

“We still have contacts within the House of Yahweh and we will continue to monitor them closely… Many people were duped into changing their last names to Hawkins as part of an indoctrination into the cult. We will help them get their names changed.”

Malik Obama is himself a polygamist as has reported. There are also videos posted which not only demonstrate this polygamy but one video appears to show Malik admitting to purchasing a girl.

Hawkins’ relationship with Malik is not new. A press release from 2013 shows the two men in an embrace. While it’s not clear if Hawkins violated the terms of his probation by associating with a known polygamist in Malik Obama, his decision to do so certainly raises issues of judgment. Why would a man on probation and who’d been charged with bigamy and whose compound remained a source of concern during that probationary period, choose to welcome a polygamist?

In 2007, Hawkins published a book in line with his false prophecies.

In the cult of Jim Jones, accounts of existing members often conflicted with the accounts of former members. Such appears to be the case with the House of Yahweh when it comes to polygamy. According to the AP:

Although members deny they practice polygamy, former members say Yisrayl Hawkins has at least two dozen wives – and state records show he fathered two babies last year with women ages 19 and 22.

Adding to comparisons to Jones are bogus predictions of nuclear holocaust. Jones convinced his followers to move with him to Ukiah, California to avoid a nuclear holocaust that would occur in 1967. In 2006, Hawkins predicted nuclear war later that year and that Abilene would be spared. Here is a video of Hawkins making his prediction:

The House of Yahweh also has a Kenyan following, which could make Malik Obama’s connection a bit more relevant. The BBC reported that residents of the village where the cult practiced, expressed relief when the nuclear deadline came and went. Leaders of the cult were arrested for inciting fear.

There have also been two suspicious deaths on Hawkins’ compound prior to his 2008 arrest.

As has reported, Malik Obama’s ties to terrorism are extensive.
