A major Israeli politician, Avigdor Lieberman, recently warned, that Israel is not ready for another Iranian strike, and that Israel begged Trump not to strike Iran because Israel will not be able to withstand another attack from Iran. As we read in Maariv, Lieberman said:

“I read in the newspapers that the Prime Minister himself asked US President Donald Trump to postpone an attack on Iran – because we are not prepared for defense. This is what leadership with delayed ignition looks like”

The same report goes on to say:

According to Lieberman, even today Israel is not acting in the right direction: “When you waste time in preparation, you pay a heavy price. It is clear that the Iranians will aim for strategic goals in the State of Israel. In the last war, they hit the Weizmann Institute and destroyed a laboratory with decades of data and findings.”

He then referred to the State Comptroller’s findings and warned of serious gaps in civil defense: “From Operation ‘Am Kalavi’ to the present day, the State Comptroller notes that more than three million citizens live without proper protection. In the last war, about half a million students studied without protection. What has happened since the end of the war? How many protected spaces have actually been added?”

According to him, future preparations are also plagued by serious failures: “The defense establishment and the political echelon are making a big, huge mistake. When I read that they are debating which new squadron to purchase, I ask – where do you live? Instead of another squadron, we need to invest in the massive establishment of a missile force.”
