Pete Buttigieg was for all practical purposes the first presidential candidate who was also a sodomite. However, the candidate seems to be out of the race as it was just announced that he is suspending his campaign according to the New York Times.
Pete Buttigieg, the former small-city Indiana mayor and first openly gay major presidential candidate, has decided to quit the Democratic race, a person briefed on Mr. Buttigieg’s plans said on Sunday, following a crushing loss in the South Carolina primary where his poor performance with black Democrats signaled an inability to build a broad coalition of voters.
Mr. Buttigieg, 38, narrowly won the Iowa caucuses early last month and came in a strong second place in the New Hampshire primary, exciting liberal white Democrats with his cool, hyper-articulate manner. But he never broadened his breadth of support in a party with a nonwhite base, and one that has veered leftward since 2018. (source)
This does not come as a surprise, as it was very unlikely that Buttigieg had any chances of winning. A lot of Americans may support sodom, but there is still a threshhold of public “disgust” that is yet to be overcome, as the idea of a very effeminate male for president is not accepted among most Americans.
But having noted this and while it is still unlikely that a Democrat will win in 2020, if that does come to pass, it virtually seals the election for 2024 for the Democrat party.
This is when one could see real changes take place. As I wrote before and rooted in the example set forth by Buttigieg, what would happen if a candidate was to be promoted who is not only a sodomite, but a woman too? It would be getting two “firsts”, something that Democrats love to do, and if the right candidate was chosen, it could have a tremendous impact on the public.
If Trump is re-elected, in spite of having absolutely no platform and (for all practical purposes) completely doing the reverse of all that he promised to do in 2016, the Republicans should enjoy it because it will likely not be until at least 2032 when they have a hope of retaking control over the White House.
