President Trump declared that if the US economy is not ‘fixed’ from the effects of the virus, then there could be “suicides by the thousands” as Business Insider reports.
President Donald Trump said Tuesday that there will be “suicides by the thousands” if entire sectors of the US economy remain shutdown in an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus that threatens to overwhelm hospitals.
“We have to put the country to work,’ he said on Fox News. “You are going to lose a number of people to the flu, but you are going to lose more people by putting the country in a massive recession or depression.”
“You are going to lose people. You are going to have suicides by the thousands,” he continued. “You can’t just come in and say, ‘Let’s close up the United States of America.'”
…
“People get tremendous anxiety and depression, and you have suicides over things like this when you have terrible economies,” he said, adding that deaths caused by the economy “definitely would be in far greater numbers than the numbers that we’re talking about with regard to the virus.”
“America will again, and soon, be open for business,” he said (source)
This is an accurate statement, and it is sad to make but what is happens in times of highly serious depressions. Some people make the decision to abuse and destroy themselves because their means of income are destroyed and they see no more purpose to live. It is similar to what Shoebat.com has warned about with young women who was their prime years in debauchery and then are unable to find a husband and have children later in life, and while we do not wish to see it happen, we predict that in the next ten years as the Millennial generation seriously goes into middle life, many childless women will make the same decision.
Trump’s comments may seem to feed this sentiment, and that is true. The reason for doing this is to build support for the “Trump stack” while also encouraging anti-Chinese rhetoric. If this happens, while some will accuse Trump, he can legitimately give the impression of having “done his best” in the eyes of the people, and instead say that it was the “disease infested Chinese” who “attacked America with their sickness” and it has caused “the loss of American lives”. If Trump does have his stimulus bill passed, Trump can be portrayed as the “hero” who “single-handedly saved the American economy” from the “irresponsible and dangerous Chinese communists”.
No matter what happens, Trump holds a complete “trump card” over China. China is going to be portrayed in the eyes of the world as the “loser” no matter what happens because unless Trump decides to do something that is just plain stupid- and he will not -he can claim a major political victory for himself.
Think about this from the perspective of campaign marketing. Who does one want to vote for? The “mentally deranged Democrat” Joe Biden who “hates Trump” and “hates America”, or Trump who “single handedly saved the American economy from the Chinese Communist menace” and “revived American manufacturing for the people” while “giving money to help those in need like a great charitable leader?”
It is an easy political win. People love to vote for the man who gives them “free money”, and the same applies to Trump. Principles will be thrown away fast as soon as the “Trump stack” arrives, and nobody will stop to consider the consequences of this.
For a while, it was unsure if Trump could win in the 2020 election, and as I warned, how Trump handled this crisis would likely determine if he could win this November. Given his actions and behavior versus that of the Democrats (which was likely choreographed), Trump is clearly emerging as a populist “hero” whose support of nationalism and socialism both continue to grow, which is not even so much his fault, but that of the people, for a nation’s leader is often a reflection of herself in many ways.
As America travels down the roads of nationalism and socialism at the same time, it is for those who see what is happening right now to stop and be very careful, because this road has been taken before. It manifested differently in the old world, and has now come to the new.
Trump is right about the nation, but there is another suicide taking place, and that is of the concept of what used to constitute the principles of being and America, showing once again that nations do not die so much by enemies from without, but by their own hands from within.
