Disloyal means treachery. Retarded means lacking mental capacity needed to perform higher functions. Yet author Ann Coulter according to TheWrap.com said in a series of tweets against Trump that Trump is “disloyal” and a “retard” as it comes to his promises measured against his actions.
Ann Coulter went on an early Sunday morning Twitter tear, calling President Donald Trump “the most disloyal actual retard that has ever set foot in the Oval Office.”
The far-right media pundit and former Trump defender was triggered by the president’s Friday tweet in which he called for Alabama voters to “not trust Jeff Sessions” and instead put their support behind Sessions’ Republican Senate seat challenger, football coach Tommy Tuberville.
“3 years ago, after Jeff Sessions recused himself, the Fraudulent Mueller Scam began. Alabama, do not trust Jeff Sessions. He let our Country down. That’s why I endorsed Coach Tommy Tuberville (@TTuberville), the true supporter of our #MAGA agenda!,” Trump tweeted.
And that set off Coulter, who called Trump a “moron,” “retard” and “lout,” who was incapable of “pretending to be” a “decent, compassionate human being.”
Coulter capped off her rant by affirming the issues that Trump stood behind as a candidate but that she feels he has abandoned since entering the White House. The commentator, who published a book in 2016 titled “In Trump We Trust,” added that she regrets once believing in “this shallow and broken man.”
During the 2016 presidential primary and into Trump’s early years in the White House, Coulter championed the real estate mogul and his political agenda. She has since distanced herself from him over immigration policies, an issue which prompted her to support Sessions, who served as Trump’s first attorney general.
In February 2019, Trump declared a national emergency at the Southern border, while pushing himself away from Coulter. She responded by saying that “the only national emergency is that our president is an idiot.” (source)
There are many things about Ann Coulter I do not like. However, in fairness to her, this is something that must agree with the author of “In Trump We Trust” on because it is objectively correct.
Trump was given the chance of history, for regardless of what one thinks of him, all he had to do was follow through, even partially, with basic promises he made. This is the constant delusion which I and others, including Coulter, refer to Trump’s followers in the context of his presidency, because many gave him a chance due to the unique circumstances of his entrance into politics, and instead of making good use of them, he betrayed his own constituients.
Trump is a scandal because unless one is deluded to the point of being a follower of a cult (as Coulter herself made reference to), there is absolutely no way to reconcile the concept of MAGA with his actions. Trump simply lied, did the complete opposite and then some, then tried to walk away from his promises and actions while insulting people on twitter.
The twitter insults have become very old because they are not even looked at as “tough” any more, but the rantings of a dishonest old man who just abuses those who question him and does not do anything to address real concerns. What started out as a tactic has burned out among the people, who are upset and still waiting for answers.
Ann Coulter may support ideas, policies, or perspectives used to fuel eugenics, nationalism, racism, or other horrendous things, and her interests in supporting Trump are clearly linked to the perpetuation of these ideas, but what she cannot be criticized for here is that the premise of her statement, that Trump is a traitor to his message in the absolute sense, is absolutely correct. Trump may win in 2020 due to the dedication of many Boomers and the fact that an elderly man exhibiting signs of dementia and with a history of sexual abuse who makes racially charged comments is his opponent, a sign that the Democrats want to lose so that in having four more years of Trump, they might write themselves an easy victory in 2024.
