Most people know him as former congressman Anthony Weiner but he’s also the husband of a woman with familial ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Huma Abedin. In either case, it looks like Weiner is eyeing a NYC Mayoral run.
Via New York Post:
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner is laying the groundwork for a political comeback, possibly as a startling addition to this year’s mayoral race, sources said yesterday.
Political insiders were abuzz at news that Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, had granted a lengthy magazine interview for the first time since his resignation in an embarrassing sexting scandal in 2011.
“The magazine piece is step one of a two-step process for him to run citywide this year,” said one Democratic Party source.
“He’s looking at public advocate and comptroller, but he really thinks he can use this to get back in and run for mayor.”
Weiner issued a terse “no comment” when asked about his plans.
Consider that Al-Qaeda is an outgrowth of the Muslim Brotherhood. If Weiner becomes mayor, it will mean that slightly more than ten years after the worst attack on American soil, the voters of the city where that attack took place will have elected a disgraced politician who is married to a woman whose mother is a leader in the Muslim Sisterhood, the female wing of Al-Qaeda’s parent group, to lead them.
It would also be a glaring indictment of not only every Republican Congressman / Senator who stuck up for Abedin and/or smeared Rep. Bachmann (McCain, Rubio, Boehner, Sensenbrenner, et. al.) but it will be a stinging indictment of every Republican Congressman / Senator who refused to publicly support Bachmann at all.
