Most people are familiar with the saying, ‘the truth hurts’. What they’re not familiar with is the Muslim version of that saying, which is: the truth hurts, so sue anyone who tells it. This mantra is now officially on display in Canada after Prime Minister Stephen Harper refused to apologize after his spokesman rightly identified a Canadian Muslim group as being connected to Hamas.
Harper’s spokesman Jason MacDonald allegedly said the following:
“We will not take seriously criticism from an organization with documented ties to a terrorist organization such as Hamas.”
The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) objected, demanding an apology from Harper. When it did not come, NCCM filed a libel suit.
The problem for NCCM is that… well… they ARE connected to Hamas. NCCM’s website boasts that it challenges ‘Islamophobia and other forms of xenophobia’. If that were true, wouldn’t it sue or otherwise fight groups like Hamas, who are actually responsible for causing the inaptly named Islamophobia? After all, a phobia is an irrational fear. If NCCM was truly interested in helping to rid the earth of an irrational fear, why wouldn’t it help to eliminate the cause of it – terrorist groups like Hamas?
NCCM is nothing more than an attempt at a facelift for CAIR in Canada. As such, any connection to CAIR is also a connection to Hamas. Last year, CAIR-Canada officially changed its name to National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM). Here is the opening of the group’s own press release at the time (h/t Jihad Watch):
(Ottawa, Canada – July 6, 2013) The Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR.CAN), a prominent national Muslim civil liberties organization founded in the year 2000, today proudly unveiled its new name and logo.
“As of July 6, 2013, CAIR.CAN will be known as the National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) or the Conseil National des Musulmans Canadiens (CNMC). This change represents a natural evolution for the organization. Our new name better reflects the Canadian heritage and focus of the organization as well as its ongoing vision to be a leading voice that enriches Canadian society through Muslim civic engagement and the promotion of human rights,” says NCCM Board Chair Kashif Ahmed.
Groups like CAIR are easily linked to Hamas; all you have to do is read the words and backgrounds of the group’s founders – Nihad Awad and Omar Ahmad. Both men worked for the Hamas founded Islamic Association of Palestine. In 1994, Awad said, “I am a supporter of the Hamas movement” and Ahmad said Islam is in America to become the dominant religion and that Islam should be “the only accepted religion on Earth”.
There you have it. Hamas CAIR NCCM isn’t suing Stephen Harper and his chief spokesman Jason MacDonald for libel; they’re suing because they’re afraid of the truth.
Now THAT is an irrational fear.
