CAIR touts Muslim voter turnout in Tuesday’s election

Corey Saylor, spokesman for the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), is cheering the defeat of members who belong to what he calls the “anti-Muslim caucus”.

Via Illume Magazine:

Prior to the election, Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) identified eleven members of Congress who make repeated use of biased themes regarding Muslims. The anti-Muslim caucus is now seven members of the U.S. House and one member of the U.S. Senate.

Four of its members—Rep. Allen West (R-FL), Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC), Rep. Chip Cravaack (R- MN) and Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL)—will not be returning for Congress’s’ 113th session. One new member, Senator-elect Ted Cruz (R-TX), joins the group.

West and Myrick counted among the four key members of the caucus. The other two, Reps. King (R-NY) and Bachmann (R-MN), won their respective re-election bids. Bachmann won with a margin of less than two percent.

Allen West’s interesting recount efforts notwithstanding, the reasons for both his loss and the loss of Joe Walsh have more to do with redistricting than with any “anti-Muslim” views. Myrick announced earlier this year that she would not seek re-election.

CAIR also issued a press release stating that 85.7% of Muslims who voted in the election voted for Barack Obama and that 4.4 % voted for Mitt Romney.

Some might remember that far left socialist Francois Hollande garnered 95% of the Muslim vote in France’s election earlier this year.

Socialists and Muslims sittin’ in a tree…

Who’d have thought?

Not to belabor a recurring theme but CAIR’s Corey Saylor is one of Huma Abedin’s defenders.
