So The ‘Gate of Hell’ was found but the Question is: Who Goes in it?

By Walid Shoebat

A “gate to hell” has emerged from ruins in southwestern Turkey, Italian archaeologists have announced, but the question is who goes in it?

No one really knows if this indeed is the gate to hell. However, as far as who goes into hell when Jesus comes to judge is pretty clear in the Bible. Now I know I will get a lot of flack from my fellow Christians for not mentioning that unbelievers from all over the globe will end up in hell. This would be true and I am not addressing this here. What I am addressing is the judgment of the nations after the battle of Armageddon. Remember, while many of these nations have Christians, these I believe will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, what’s left are these nations that persecuted Christians and Israel. The reference in the Bible to hell is “the pit”. Anyone can research the Bible for “the pit” and see which nations go in it. Here they are:

Egypt (see Ezekiel 29:9, 30:3-4), but far from being a judgment against Egypt alone this portion of the prophecy is also leveled against Sudan, Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey and Arabia:

“Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt” (Ezekiel 30:5).

Put (or Phut) is a reference to North Africa and includes the regions west of Egypt. Lydia was a central western region of Turkey. They will all be destroyed along with the Antichrist. These nations are in “league” or in “covenant” with and allied with the Antichrist.

Then we have…

“Assyria is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword: Whose graves are set in the sides of the pit, and her company is round about her grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which caused terror in the land of the living” (Ezekiel 32:22–23).

Assyria and “all her company” could include several Middle Eastern nations like Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Turkey as well as Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. They will all be cast into the pit.

Then we have Iran…

“There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which are gone down uncircumcised into the nether parts of the earth, which caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their shame with them that go down to the pit” (Ezekiel 32:24).

Elam encompasses the region of modern day Iran and perhaps regions of Afghanistan. Again we see that they also will, “go down to the pit” along with the Antichrist.

Then we have the Turkic nations, which include nations such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan:

“There is Meshech, Tubal, and all her multitude: her graves are round about him: all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living. And they shall not lie with the mighty that are fallen of the uncircumcised, which are gone down to hell with their weapons of war: and they have laid their swords under their heads, but their iniquities shall be upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.” (Ezekiel 32:26-27)

“The threat of Islam is predicted all over the Bible, read and study Walid Shoebat’s incredible work that explains all. Click here for more information.”

Then we have Jordan and Saudi Arabia…

“There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, which with their might are laid by them that were slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit” (Ezekiel 32:29)

In the strict sense, Edom is comprised of the southern parts of Jordan but here the text states “her kings” (plural). This encompasses Arabia. In many passages, Edom has come to represent the greater portion of the enemies of Israel that live to her south and east.

Then we have the Hezbollah headquarters, Lebanon:

“There be the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Sidonians, which are gone down with the slain; with their terror they are ashamed of their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword, and bear their shame with them that go down to the pit” (Ezekiel 32:30).

All the “princes of the North” refers to Turkey and her allies.

And Sidon once again refers to Lebanon. They are both cast “down to the pit.”

Now that we understand the context of Ezekiel 27-32 – namely the judgment of the Antichrist and the Muslim nations that follow him – we can now better understand certain portions of the Book of Revelation.

Most Western interpreters would never consider Ezekiel 27-32 as the interpretive basis for understanding Revelation 19. Yet, it is these passages we just reviewed that make up one of the Old Testament foundations for the following passage, which concludes the Biblical revelation concerning the judgment of Antichrist and the Muslim nations that follow him:

“And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh” (Revelation 19:20, 21).

While many will object at my analysis here, no one can deny the remarkable biblical text that identifies the very nations that are causing much of the trouble in the world today.

  • I agree, Walid. So, to put it in plain English, a whole bunch of Muslims will be cast into the pit! Too bad it can’t happen sooner! Too bad.

    • I would hope they would repent and turn to Jesus Christ. But what I say, I say for the ones who will not..the ones who want to go around and torment everyone, chop their heads off, torture and kill children..and more. Those are the ones who deserve a horrible Hell!

After just reading in Josephus’s The Antiquities of the Jews, Chapter 9:1-2, it talks about Idumeans(Edom) being forced to convert to Judaism or leave the country. It says that “they were hereafter no other than Jews”. That is also talked about in the Jewish Encyclopedia. And, in the 1925 Jewish Encyclopedia edition, it says Edom is in Jewry. So I’m wondering how do we know for sure who will be in hell except those that have Jesus as their testimony. I think it is definately something to be praying about. Just because someone is considered “Israel” doesn’t necessarily make them physical heirs. We are all heirs through Christ and no other way, the Word says that He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except by Him. So we need to be in prayer for all people, even those who are right now considered “Israel” and share with them the Gospel. They need to hear just as much as all the world, even the muslims. Only the Father, by His Spirit, can draw anyone unto Him.
    blessings and prayers!
