White House Press Secretary’s absurd standard

In an attempt to justify the red carpet treatment for a gaggle of Muslim Brotherhood leaders, Press Secretary Jay Carney said the following, via the Washington Examiner:

“It’s a fact that Egypt’s political landscape has changed and the actors have become more diverse,” Carney said, explaining the decision to host the Muslim Brotherhood. “The point is that we will judge Egypt’s political actors by how they act, not by their religious affiliation.”

Of course, this is like saying a cobra cannot be judged until it bites you, despite its being full of venom or that nineteen Muslim fundamentalist hijackers cannot be judged until they crash planes into buildings.

Good grief.
