Rep. Louie Gohmert Rips Obama and Anyone Who thought taking out Bashar al-Assad last year was a Good Idea

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) publicly stated today that had Barack Obama and a host of other pseudo-intellectuals gotten their way last year and removed Bashar al-Assad from power in Syria that ISIS would be running that country today. This is absolutely a true statement and like Gohmert, Shoebat.com held that position at the time (unlike several so-called ‘experts’ who signed a letter to Barack Obama pressuring him to remove Assad).

To Gohmert’s point, exactly one year ago on August 27, 2013, a slew of pseudo-intellectuals wanted Assad gone and signed a letter to Obama demanding that very thing. The rise of ISIS should be the equivalent of a nuclear torpedo to the credibility of each one of these supposedly enlightened experts:

Karl Rove: Senior Advisor to George W. Bus (the “Brain) and painfully ubiquitous Fox News Contributor.

Bill Kristol: Political commentator and editor of the Weekly Standard.

Clifford May: President of Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), a Washington, DC think tank.

Max Boot: Historian, political analyst and Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Paul Bremer: Diplomat who led occupational authority after U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Mark Dubowitz: Executive Director of Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD).

Douglas Feith: Under Secretary of Defense for Policy under George W. Bush.

Dan Senor: Chief Spokesman for Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq and adviser to George W. Bush administration.

Tim Pawlenty: Former Governor of Minnesota and 2012 Presidential candidate.

Joe Lieberman: Former U.S. Senator from Connecticut.

What should be doubly embarrassing for these individuals is how supposedly much lesser informed Americans were able to figure this out.

Perhaps the best example came from Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) who, while not on the signatory list, is the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Last year, she boasted that she knows more than her constituents who didn’t want to take out Assad and that based on that intelligence those constituents didn’t have access to, Assad needed to go.

What a moron:
