During the Cold War, NATO collaborated with and backed far-Right paramilitaries and propagandists. The Ukrainian nationalist Mykola Lebed (who was the mastermind behind the horrific Wolynia Massacre) would be embraced by the CIA and used as a Cold War anti-Soviet propaganda.
