EXPLOSIVE REVELATION: Documents Show Working Relationship between Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda and Iran

In a stunning development, some of the documents recovered from Osama bin Laden’s compound by Navy SEALS were introduced by federal prosecutors as evidence in the trial of a terrorism suspect. The documents reveal and confirm an actual working relationship between Iran and al-Qaeda.

An explosive article from Thomas Joscelyn zeroes in on one of the documents presented in court, a 2010 memo:

Some of the key revelations in the newly-released bin Laden files relate to al Qaeda’s dealings with Iran and presence in Afghanistan.

A top al Qaeda operative asked bin Laden for permission to relocate to Iran in June 2010 as he plotted attacks around the world. That operative, Yunis al Mauritani, was a senior member of al Qaeda’s so-called “external operations” team, and plotted to launch Mumbai-style attacks in Europe.

That same memo reveals that Abu Anas al-Libi, a terrorist wanted in connection with the 1998 Kenya / Tanzania bombings who was apprehended by U.S. officials in Libya in 2013, traveled to Pakistan from Iran.

Here is Joscelyn in an interview with Fox News about the newly released documents:

While the documents introduced into evidence by the prosecutors don’t indicate collaboration between al-Qaeda and Iran relative to the 9/11 attacks, this new development does indeed bolster the case that there was a relationship.

Abu Anas al Libi: Al-Qaeda member who traveled from Iran to Pakistan.

Even the 9/11 Commission Report (pages 240-41) speaks specifically to evidence of collaboration between al-Qaeda and Iran in the attacks on 9/11. From the section of the report entitled, “Assistance from Hezbollah and Iran to al Qaeda”, the report reads:

…while in Sudan, senior managers in al Qaeda maintained contacts with Iran and the Iranian-supported world wide terrorist organization Hezbollah… Al Qaeda members received advice and training from Hezbollah.

At the end of the section, the Commission concludes thusly:

After 9/11, Iran and Hezbollah wished to conceal any past evidence of cooperation with Sunni terrorists associated with al Qaeda. A senior Hezbollah official disclaimed any Hezbollah involvement in 9/11. We believe this topic requires further investigating by the U.S. government.

There you have it. The 9/11 Commission itself recommended that an Iranian connection to 9/11 be investigated by the government.

That did not happen. However, on December 22, 2011, a U.S. District Court Judge named George B. Daniels found Iran, its Mullahs and entities operating under control of the Iranian government all guilty of collaborating with al-Qaeda and being complicit in the 9/11 attacks.

The failure to investigate, acknowledge or otherwise determine Iran’s complicity in the 9/11 attacks has taken place on both the watches of George W. Bush and Barack Obama. As for the 2010 Memo, it constitutes a mere fraction of the 1 million documents recovered from Osama bin Laden’s compound in 2011 by those Navy SEALS.

What do the remainder of those documents reveal?
