As the 2020 election approaches, tensions are high and scandals ready to burst from the woodwork as they do every election cycle, since it makes for higher vote counts and influence on the public.
That said, it is with great interest that Philip Haney, a DHS whistleblower and critic of the Obama administration, was found dead of what is being described as a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound in a story reported by FOX news.
Philip Haney, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) whistleblower who was an outspoken critic of the administration of former President Barack Obama, was found dead Friday, about 40 miles east of Sacramento, Calif., local authorities said.
Haney, 66, “appeared to have suffered a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the Amador County Sheriff’s Office said in a release. Sheriff and coroner Martin A. Ryan shared the initial details of the case. (source)
It could have been a real suicide, as these things do happen.
However, one should not forget that this is an election year, and that sordid things tend to come out in those years.
Perhaps he knew something that might help Trump? Or perhaps the other way around?
We will never know. However, whenever major political or government personnel tied to scandals suddenly die or commit suicide, it is often worthy of asking questions.
