While many have been quarantining themselves to stop the spread of COVID-19, some people have continued to engage in dangerous behavior. Without naming any specific bloc, TheHill.com report that doctors expect to see a sharp rise in STD and HIV cases.
The pandemic that has upended life in the U.S. could lead to increased STD rates and setbacks in the fight against HIV as public health resources are shifted to the coronavirus response.
Access to STD and HIV testing and treatment services are dwindling as local health departments shuffle staff to respond to COVID-19 and clinics reduce hours or close altogether and cancel outreach programs.
“We are seeing a complete disruption to STD prevention here in the United States,” said David Harvey, executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors (NCSD). “We expect to experience even higher STD rates as a result.”
As the U.S. deals with the coronavirus pandemic, many of the 2,200 disease intervention specialists who work at local health departments tracking STDs and other infectious diseases are being reassigned to the COVID-19 response.
These specialists would typically contact people who have tested positive for STDs and HIV, make sure they’re getting treatment and interview them confidentially about who they have had sexual contact with to ensure those individuals also get testing and treatment. (source)
Now this could be any bloc of society. However, it is a known fact that the most susceptible blocs to STDs and HIV are sodomites because of behavior.
Therefore, there is a strong chance here- without it being explicitly stated that such is also the case in the particular matter and while one cannot definitively say that it is such -that if a group would choose to define themselves by highly degenerate behavior, and given past association, the sodomite bloc is the most likely one to do this.
At the very least, it shows that while there are many people who are attempting to take precautions, no matter who they are, there is a group who continue to engage in risky behavior that is possibly jeopardizing public health and safety. Given how contagious the illness is, it is all the more reason for why strict self-quarantine procedures need to continue to be in place until the threat of the disease naturally passes, let alone for the spread of STDs or HIV.
