We were Wrong about Glenn Beck

Walid Shoebat

Dear Fredrick Murphy,

I want to thank you for pointing out what I did not know about Glenn Beck and that he “publicly says he believes Jesus Christ is his savior”.

Thank you also for clarifying that his non-belief in the Trinity is a non-issue and should not be exposed.

You are right. Who cares about this old, outmoded theory anyway? Indeed, we should “leave the salvation/end and final decision to God” and let that old father in heaven expose Glenn’s errors, not us. So I confess:

Mea Cupla
Mea Culpa
Mea Maxima Culpa

Thank you for your excellent advice, that I should look at Glenn’s “positives” while you so eloquently pointed out our “negatives”. Thank you for guiding us and for providing us with terms; comments rebuking the Shoebats are just fine, so long as no one rebukes Beck.

And also, thank you for showing how I did quote Beck when he was right. However, I wonder why you said we “should state the good with the bad with Beck”. This is confusing. Perhaps you can help and add to the necessary confessions I need to make. How am I anti-Beck? Help me count the ways. I admit that I was wrong to pick on his spiritual drives but his political positions never bothered me. In fact, I agree with many of them.

Moreover, you so eloquently stated in Glenn’s defense that the Temple Mount also belongs to Muslims, for the time being, of course:

“if you cannot hear Glenn TRYING NOT TO START WW3 on location (which he was warned ahead by Israel not to stoke fire that would cause Islamic rock-throwing demonstrations, turmoil, etc.) then you are being unbalanced and agenda-oriented …”

And I want to thank you for pointing out more logs in our eyes. Indeed, we must have been “unbalanced” and “agenda-oriented”. By no means should we undermine all the other devil-ridden obsessive traits which you exorcised when you said that we are “obsessed”, “venomous”, “childish”, have “thick skulls”, are “rude”, “bashers”, “mud-slingers”, “defensive”, “negative”, “stubborn”, and “deaf”.

And thank you for making sure that you’re setting such a clear example for us to follow by “not typing these words in a defensive spirit”. It’ll be greatly beneficial to me when I wonder how to treat my wife the next time we have an argument. All I need to do is add these words to my atonement vernacular when seeking forgiveness for such sins.

We agree, never “throw babies with the bath water” but what if a baby snake cobra was inside my bathtub? Do you recommend that I drain the bath water and embrace the cobra?

So let me see… what else? Oh yes, lest I forget, thank you for warning me not to start World War III by asserting a truism that the Temple is for Jews only. I was so wrong this whole time for praying that the war starts now instead of waiting until Iran and the entire Middle East gains more Nukes.

Oh yes, and thank you also for teaching me how to be “balanced”. Yes, this was good American advice we Middle Easterners lack; it was really good since it helps with my assimilation into this wonderful, spirit-filled, God-fearing and Gospel-driven society.

I am lost here, please help us find the way, the truth and the life. Help our Middle Eastern mentality understand the problem. We must be wrong again. The Bible is not a double-edged sword. What is apparently needed is a double-edged tongue, right? Perhaps you can help me conquer my hatred for Americanized Christianity, pray for me, and rebuke the “negative spirit” that infects my soul?

I’m just a soul whose intentions are good, Oh LORD, please don’t let me be misunderstood. Sometimes I find myself lonely praying …life has its problem and I get my share… I love rock and roll. Will it count toward our salvation if we sing this song to Jesus? Will doing so get us through the narrow gate?

After all, the American Glenn Beck read the whole Quran and concluded, “Islam is a peaceful religion”, that Joseph Smith is a savior too, that Dr. Zuhdi Jasser proved it, and that over a billion Muslims are following him to paradise. Jasser will lead Islam into the light and Islam can be moderated while Jasser leads us instead of Jesus. I fully agree with Glenn Beck. Geert Wilders is a “fascist” who needs old-fashioned Christian missionaries to help him find his way. The Mormons are already sending young, peach-fuzz faced, well dressed and groomed, bicycle-riding boys to Evangelize Muslims.

Hallelujah, or should I say Hallelu-Allah? What difference does it make?

Ok, ok, you were expecting this one:

Indeed, Geert Wilders, the secularist fascist was the only one who will not conform. In this interview between Beck and Wilders from last year, Glenn tried to soften Wilders’ heart but this Pharaoh’s heart hardened. Beck’s distaste for Wilders is not new. At the 8:38 mark in this clip is an excerpt from Beck in 2010, during which the then Fox News host essentially put Wilders’ extremism on par with that of Stalin:

Wilders is a bit unlike Robert Morris, who now, through Glenn’s persuading charisma, says that “Mormons worship God”:

Thank God Glenn is bringing in the most respected pastors in America to share in Mormon-Love. Now Jerry Falwell Jr. is defending Mormonism:

Thanks to Glenn, we now should never attack any other faith:

And lest I forget, Franklin Graham now says that Mormonism is no longer a cult:

I am also ashamed to have debated Jasser on TV and thought I won, since Jasser was not able to point to a single major Islamic scholar anywhere in the Muslim world who was willing to abandon Shariah; shame on me. It must be my pride-filled heart; Jasser was that Muslim scholar we were all looking for.

God bless Joseph Smith for saying that Islam is from God. And since you opened my eyes, I will soon be announcing that I will convert to Mormonism; it is – after all – a better choice from this aggressive, in-your-face Christian message of hell-fire and brimstone.

So please help my simple, Middle Eastern, unassimilated, less-than-complex mind. I propose that the Ministry of Rebuke always be active when it comes to myself, you, Glenn Beck, George W. Bush, Franklin Graham and whomever else undermines Scripture. Would pointing out their errors without posting every good thing they did be “throwing the baby out with the bath water” or do you suggest I refrain from saying any negative thing whatsoever?

You propose we never rebuke Glenn Beck and that it was ok for him to say that the Temple is for all three religions. It was, after all, “about the right for Jews to access only” while the Muslims have the whole pie. My examples on how Israel fought to liberate the Temple from Antiochus Epiphanies indeed is a bad idea. Who reads the apocrypha anyway? Judas Maccabaeus was “extremist”, “unwise”, and “unbalanced” in his dealings with Antiochus. Oh, and the Jews should stop celebrating that stupid festival called Hanukah, lest they hurt the Syrians who produced Epiphanies. After all, Glenn Beck is the savior of Israel in our day and not emulating that over-the-top, extremist, stone-slinging Judas Maccabeus is the preferred course if that is so, right?

After all, like Glenn Beck, Muhammad did proclaim Jesus as Messiah; he also made peace with the Jews and even wrote the entire Meccan suras which supported the Jews. Now, let’s assume we’re two stupid Jews who have been transported back in time, to the time of Muhammad. Do you suppose we should have rejected Muhammad? God forbid.

And now that we will have an Antichrist coming, who will support Israel and give them a peace treaty? Should we also trust him too and allow him access to the Temple? Indeed, we should, Jesus Himself said: “blessed are the peace makers”. We should accept Antichrist since he too will support Mormonism and Islam, Beck’s favorite choices to establish peace.

Oh yes, lest I forget… I need one more thing – your proposal that Glenn Beck is the next biblical Cyrus was brilliant. Indeed, making Glenn Beck a “Cyrus” was a wiser choice from my “Glenn Beck is a wolf in sheep’s clothing” or a “baby cobra in my bathtub”.

But tell me, how can we tell who’s right unless we debate Glenn, write out our arguments, and have the public review which one of us is correct? Oh, I see. “Glenn Debate” is an “obsessive” “compulsive” behavior. Indeed, let’s ban Beck debates too. Ok, should we then stop writing articles on the monumental grand theft of intellectual property Beck did from Breitbart, Spencer and countless others?

I think we should. You’re right. Beck is “DESPERATELY NEEDED”. Even Israel agrees; they need Beck more than they need Jesus. And I fully do agree, as you stated, “THIS ISN’T GLENN WORSHIP”.

P.S. O Gosh darn it, see what you made me do? You critiquing me on critiquing Glenn Beck made me write more critique. I need to do more penance.

O gosh darn it again, I should not use the word “penance” lest I get accused of being Catholic when I am a closet Mormon.

Mea Culpa … Mea Culpa … Mea Maxima Culpa

Signed,
Walid (and Theodore) Shoebat

Walid and Ted: Anyone among Cristians or secularists for that matter should be condemned (and/or rebuked and rejected) for the following:

    1. Stating that Islam (or Mormonism) worship the real God (i.e. Jesus Christ-“true God and eternal life).
    2. Stating that anyone else besides Israel owns “The Land.”
    3. Staing that their exists many congruent ponts between the faiths and Islam and Christianity, to the point that both worship the same God.
    4. Stating that people can be saved without faith in Jesus, the Son of God.
    5. Failing to admit and perceive that Islam is, in all of its forms, destructive to freedom, democracy, Constitutional Democracy, The Bill of Rights, human dignity and basic human rights.

Therefore, many Protestant Evangelicals should be rejected and rebuked. Again, I rebuke many of my fellow Protestants.

AND, SO SHOULD THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH! THEY (TOO) ARE GUILTY OF VIOLATING ALL OF THE ABOVE (1-5).

    http://www.religionnews.com/2013/03/25/muslim-convert-quits-catholic-church-says-its-too-weak-against-islam/

I’m sure you are aware of this story.

    M.C. Allam stated the following:

Allam, who has called Islam an “intrinsically violent ideology,” said his main reason for leaving the church (i.e. Roman Cahtloic Church) was its perceived “religious relativism, in particular the legitimization of Islam as a true religion.”

I agree and hope that those that have read the piece written about Glenn Beck will thoughtfully process what was said and realize that there is something to be learned by being honest in your processing of information. Thank you Walid and Theodore for continuing your mission to get the truth out.

      • BrotherGarrett

Theodore please be careful, Do not get caught up in Mocking your enemy. However I love the heart of a Zealot for Christ. This is something new world politics can never understand. Yours is a Valuable Education in Christianity that no Western Evangelist understands. We who live by the name of Christ get it,,believe me. I am sorry to read about Pastor John Hagee does not believe that Jews need Christ just as much as we Anglos. Even us who are reformed Catholics.

  • Miss Annie

Thank you Walid and Ted, for continuously contending earnestly for the faith!

    Jude 1

    King James Version (KJV)

1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:

2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

    • chriss179

It’s not so much that they deny that jesus is lord. It’s that they call jesus a fundamentalist who reads that stupid old book. He’s a bigot because he claims that he alone is the way to the father. He’s a hate mongerer because he says that all others are roads that “may seem right to a man but in the end lead to his death”.

These men who say everything is true and whoever invalidates this by pointing at the obvious that not everything can be true at the same time is called a bigot and warmongerer. and in doing so these men show their immense stupidity because in the real world 2 challenging claims can never both be true. Jesus either is the son of god or he isn’t. he can’t be both nor can he be neither of these. This is called the law of non contradiction.

So who truly invalidate themselves. But it’s for a good cause they say. World “peace”. So nobody should point this out or you are a hate mongerer. Because if you differ to the opinion of daddy satan then you are stirring up a war.

Well sometimes the truth is worth fighting over. Especially when it has to reach out to the places where the truth is not known and there is an opposition to that truth. What would a world be where you can deny the truth entry simply by starting a fight or bullying those who speak the truth out and claiming they only came to stir trouble.

People brains are so easy to program. If I were satan i’d be having a blast in our age!

Walid and Ted, you are a “fundamentalist!”

Maybe I should put the adjective “bigot” before or after.

Similarities between Joseph Smith and Muhammad:

1.The followers of Muhammad and Joseph Smith both killed innocent “infidel” on the same date of 9/11. On September 11, 1857, Mormon militia massacred about 140 men, women and children under the authority of Brigham Young. However, 17 very young children were spared and adopted into Mormon families. They were, in fact, sold to the highest Mormon bidder and resold and traded many times afterwards. This event is called “The Mountain Meadows” massacre. Mormon leaders engaged in a deliberate rewriting of history to deny they were behind the massacre. On September 11, 2001, Muhammad’s followers, inspired by teachings of the Koran, sent two airplanes into the World Trade Center killing 3,000 innocent men, women and children. Muslims have attained higher degree in denying the massacre and rewriting history, and preach that actually Jews, not Muslim terrorists, were behind the 9/11 terror attacks.
2.Both Muhammad and Joseph Smith were visited by an angel. Joseph Smith was visited by the angel “Moroni”, Muhammad by Gabriel.
    3.Both were given visions.
4.Both were told that ‘no true religion existed on the earth’… In the published account of his life, Joseph Smith related that he became very disturbed when he was a youth because of the “strife among the different (Christian) denominations,” and this “cry and tumult” led him to ask God “which of all the sects were right—and which I should join.” He was told that he must “join none of them, for they were all wrong… that all their creeds were an abomination in God’s sight, that those professors (of faith) were all corrupt…” (Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith 2:8-19). N. J. Dawood says that Muhammad was also concerned with the fact that Jews and Christians had “divided themselves into schismatic sects.” In Muhammad’s scriptures, we read: “Yet the Sects are divided concerning Jesus…. Truly, the unbelievers are in the grossest error” (The Koran, translated by N. J. Dawood, Surah 19, p. 34). In Surah 30 (p. 190), a warning appears regarding it: “Do not split up your religion into sects, each exulting in its own beliefs.” In Surah 3, (p. 398), we read: “The only true faith in Allah’s sight is Islam. Those to whom the Scriptures (i.e., Jews & Christians) were given disagreed among themselves through jealousy only after knowledge had been given them.”
5.Both were to restore the long lost faith as the one true religion. Islam makes claim that Adam and Abraham were Muslims, a claim as ridiculous as it is undocumented from either history or archaeology. Mormons make the unsubstantiated claim that the churches in the first century were Mormon.
6.Both wrote a book inspired by God.
7.Both claimed to be illiterate or uneducated and used this as proof the book was inspired. “How could an illiterate man write the Koran or the Book of Mormon?” Joseph Smith is claimed to have only grade-three education.
8.Both claimed the Bible was lost, altered, corrupted and unreliable.
9.Both claimed their holy book was the most correct and perfect on earth.

    Laughing loudly here.

    Blessed are the peacemakers..

And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Yeah… Peace peace.. And whoever rebuke him are filthy warmongering bigots, liars and unworthy of the life given to them… Says he and his deceived minions.

Keep up the good work, fight the good battle and run the good race Walid Shoebat. By HIS grace the truth shall be revealed. The path is very small and the harlings are many. “But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.” – John 10:12-14″ Proverbs 4:26: “Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.” Beck is just one more “harling” of so many. If it is not of our Father, Jesus Christ, and given of the Holy Spirit, it is not of truth. I pray for you Mr. Shoebat that the Grace of God, in the name of Christ, given of the Holy Spirit be with you always (I also pray for our enemies).

Mormons and Islam believers are worshiping the same god (Satan). The two relligions are both from Satan and inspired by demons. THe holy Bible clearly states that Jesus Christ the living God, is the only door to God and is offered freely to absolutely all humans. His agonizing death on the cross purchased forgiveness for every sin for all humans because Jesus took the punishment upon himself that we individually deserve. All born again people know this and have experienced Jesus’ intense love poured out on them. Satan was actually created by Jesus to show the difference between good (Jesus) and evil (Satan). Every human that has ever been born has gone astray and chosen evil at some point. That is why we all need Jesus – the Savior of the world . Jesus was the human form of Almight God sent to the earth to show mankind the way back to God. Jesus truthfully said, ” I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14::6

I have the greatest admiration, respect and appreciation for you, Walid and Ted,
I also think the same of Glenn Beck.

    Comment and Questions:

    Glenn Beck is not my pastor. Pastors I follow are Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. David Jeremiah, Dr. Michael Youseff and Dr John Hagee.;

I think of Glenn Beck the same way I think of Rush and brother, David (Methodist); Hannity, O’Reilly and Ingraham (Catholic); Joel Rosenberg, Jay Sekulow (Messianic Jews); Drudge (Jewish); et al.

How many people scrutinize these other people for their religious views the way they do Glenn Beck?

I am reminded of Mark 9: 38-41. “40. if they are not against us, they’re for us.

    • billo

Ky: God bless you. I too admire Glenn Beck. He is, of course, very far from perfect. I HAVE NEVER CONSIDER HIM A CHRISTIAN (HE’S A MORMAN)!!!

Being raised a Roman Catholic taught me one thing: READ THE SCRIPTURES MYSELF. Study the Scriptures.

I listen to many, but only trust my own reading of the Scriptures. As James says, “we all do err in many ways.”

The Bible is the authority. The Apostle who grasped the Grace of God, due to “The Revelation of Jesus Christ” was PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (What great, great wonderful man).

Being in the Protestant tradition, we have learned to not blindly follow preachers or ministers but to follow the Bible.

      • LionKing

I too admire Glenn Beck. as you, but their it stops. He is informative and his concerns about this country are valid. He is doing simple math from the carnal nature of humankind. U.S. and world history + current events + carnal nature = a probable outcome. He is well read with a staff of researchers. He is successful through the carnal nature of humankind which is totally of self-centeredness (the orginal sin) as written in Scripture starting in Genesis 3. The question: Did John Smith and Jesus Christ walk on the same path? I think not. Here is the proper math for understanding truth. God + Jesus Christ + The Holy Ghost existing with in = Glen Beck reaching new depths of truth about the world and where it is headed. For example, Islam. Beck says there are moderate Islamist and Islamic extremist. They are one in the same. Their beliefs are one in the same. The Moderates are the civilians and the extremist are their army. If Beck followed the God + Christ + the Holy Ghost math, he would be of a different mindset. It is written in Scripture about the nature of the tribe of Ismael; the lenage of Islam. And yes, Paul is one of my favs with John at the same level of Holy Spirit inspiration. Course, all of Scripture is necessary for total understanding. I just love the Word of God given to us by the Holy Spirit. From Genesis to Reveation…. I love them all.
