A Palestinian Muslim woman has turned herself in to police, for beating and then hanging her mentally challenged daughter after finding out that she was pregnant, in an “honor” killing.
The victim’s father and brother have disappeared since the murder, and the Palestinian Authority have commenced a manhunt.
Amal Al Juabah, the general coordinator of the Women’s Centre for the Legal and Social Guidance in Hebron and member of the Palestinian Women’s General Union, said:
Where is the honor in this crime? The victim was completely insane and could not be held responsible for her body and mind.
