A larger Christian militia has formed Iraq, they call themselves Dwekh Nawsha, which means “self-sacrifice,” for as Christ sacrificed himself, they too put themselves at the gates of death, each laying “down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:12)
Caesar Jacob, a deputy of to the Christian militia’s commander, said:
We found ourselves helpless… We must depend on ourselves to defend our land for now and the future
The militia commander, Albert Kisso, made it clear that the goal of the militia is to protect the local Christians as well as the monestaries and churches, and other ancient sites:
It is the priority of Dwekh Nawsha to protect the sons of this region, as well as the region itself — including its monasteries, churches, artifacts
One militiaman said:
We are patrolling day and night. We move around these areas and observe the situation
Here is a video with English subtitles of interviews with some of the fighters and their heroic duties:
Here is some footage of their training:
Let us pray that God watches over these men with “horses and chariots of fire” (2 Kings 6:17), with “the armies of heaven!” (Psalms 148:2) “The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands” (Psalm 68:17), and let us pray that they protect these soldiers of God.
