The internet trolls of India and Pakistan are barking for war on the internet, and some of them are not nobodies online. One famous Indian actor, Ajay Devgn, recently went onto Twitter to express favor of war against Pakistan, saying: “Mess with the best, die like the rest”.
Mess with the best, die like the rest. Salute #IndianAirForce.@narendramodi.

Another actor, Akshay Kumar, also went onto to Twitter with nationalist and militarist jargon: “Proud of our #IndianAirForce fighters for destroying terror camps. … Quiet no more!”
Proud of our #IndianAirForce fighters for destroying terror camps. अंदर घुस के मारो ! Quiet no more! #IndiaStrikesBack

Former Indian actor and politician said: “A TRULY BEAUTIFUL GOOD MORNING. THANKS @narendramodi SIR AND BRAVEHEARTS OF OUR ARMY”

While there are many people on the internet beating the war drum, there is a minority affirming that war is not the solution. For example, one woman named Mita Santra, whose husband was murdered in a Pakistani backed terrorist attack which took place two weeks ago, said that war is not always the solution, saying: “war cannot solve every problem”. She has been getting attacked by Indian nationalists who have accused her of being “cowardly and self-centred”. But she has refused to give in to the pier pressure:
“Right now, I am not in a position to watch social media. But I still stand by what I said about war. People have their own opinion; it is the individual’s freedom of speech. I am no different.”
She also said that in war, every death means a devastated family:
“As a teacher and a student of history, I know war can’t bring any permanent solution. A wife loses her husband, a mother loses her son, a daughter loses her father … I have read and experienced harrowing tales of losses. But it is not the individual alone who ends up losing. The country, too, suffers. A war seriously damages the economy and social development comes to a standstill … I support the great bravery of our Air Force, Army, Navy and the paramilitary forces. What they have done on Tuesday is highly appreciable. I totally agree on the methods adopted by the IAF to eliminate terrorists without killing civilians. What I only oppose is a full-scale war. Terrorists are the enemy of our country and the society. My husband is a victim of brute terrorism.
She also pointed out that Indian intelligence knew about the vulnerabilities to a terrorist attack but did not take the measures to prevent it (much like how European intelligence knew about certain terrorist attacks and did not stop them):
“Intelligence agencies had warned but the precautionary measures were not in place. If there were jammers in convoy, it could have prevented the attack. I think there were many failures and gap”
Pakistani nationalists are also on Twitter praising the prospect of war with India. Hashtags like #PakistanStrikesBack and #PakistanAirForceOurPride are inundating Twitter.
The internet is littered with the biggest war mongers who lurk at the lowest depths of the abyss of the virtual world. They do not look at the evidence that shows negligence or perhaps conspiracy from their perspective governments, but will automatically have knee-jerk reactions praising the cults of personality and draping themselves with their flags.
