MSNBC Journalist Calls Los Angeles Lakers The “Los Angeles N*ggers” On Live Broadcast

Sometimes people misspeak when they are doing a broadcast. Sometimes the misspeak can be something of tremendous magnitude.

Recently, the famous basketball player Kobe Bryant, who credited his Catholic Faith and the help of a priest in turning around his life, and some of his children perished in a horrific helicopter crash. Many news outlets have been discussing the incident and his time as a player with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Given the rise in racism and race used as a means of inciting tensions between different groups, one reporter, Allison Morris of MSNBC, has provoked public outrage after she referred during a live broadcast to the “Los Angeles Lakers” instead as the “Los Angeles Niggers”.

Emotions were raw throughout the day Sunday, as it was learned that Bryant, 41, the legendary basketball player who played in Los Angeles for 20 years, died suddenly in a helicopter crash near Calabasas, Calif. Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others also perished in the crash.

MSNBC anchor Alison Morris was covering the tragedy and was offering high praise for Bryant, an iconic player who touched the lives of many, when she got tongue-tied while trying to say the “Los Angeles Lakers.”

What came out sounded much like the “Los Angeles N***ers,” according to some — as ridiculous as that may be, given the solemn occasion and her effusive praise of Bryant. (source)
