A 62 year-old Swedish Missionary Woman – Brigitte Almeby – was seriously injured when two armed men shot her in Lahore, today.
According to the police Superintendent Malik Liaquat, two armed men intercepted Brigitte Almeby at model town Lahore, while she was exiting an office and fired at her.
Almeby is the managing Director of Full Gospel Assemblies Bible College, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore.
She was immediately taken to the Jinnah Hospital, where doctors performed surgery.
The Administrator of Jinnah Hospital stated,
“She suffered two bullet injuries and we are trying to save her life.”
A spokesman for the Full Gospel Assemblies of Pakistan Church relayed that…
“a couple of unidentified men had visited Almeby”s residence a few days ago and inquired about her from her security guard.”
Almeby had been running three social welfare NGOs in Pakistan for the past three decades.
The attackers did not take any cash or valuables from her; it is a clear case of Extremism. Police have registered a FIR against the unidentified attackers.
