The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Plateau State chapter, has called on the Federal Government to stop the incessant killing of Christians by Boko Haram in the Northern part of the country.
Reverend Julius Oyebola, dropped this hint at the annual memorial lecture in memory of Pastor Bature Adams, in Jos, last weekend.
Pastor Adams, the general overseer of Liberty Bible Church, located on Abubakar Street, Zakalio village, was killed alongside his family members and some church members during a vigil, when members of the Boko Haram sect set the church premises on fire.
Reverend Adeoye urged the Federal Government not to relent in its effort to arrest and prosecute members of this group for peace to reign in Nigeria.
“The Federal Government cannot just keep quiet like that; a whole family was wiped out in an attack during a church service, just as some other members lost their breadwinners to the attack. It can’t continue this way; the perpetrators must be brought to book and sanity must be brought back to the society,” Adeoye said.
Also, another pastor, G.C Shawari, of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), in Jos North Local Government Area of the state was also recently killed in the same circumstances.
