Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram, the Muslim terrorist group which has been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Christians, has sworn in a recent video after an attack that that he will “decapitate and mutilate” more people, and then he said
Had Allah allowed us to eat them we would have eaten them but we are not cannibals because we are not spirits or animals. As for killing, we will kill (for) Allah, if he says we should decapitate, we should amputate the limbs, we should mutilate. …They try to brainwash the people that we are fighting an ethnic war. No, we are fighting a religious war, we are fighting Jonathan [the president of Nigeria], we are fighting Christians.”
Cannibalism has been found to be partaken in the Boko Haram group. A former member, Isiakau, who converted to Christianity, gave his testimony in which he confessed the blood drinking rituals done in the jihadist gang:
And after killing the victim, we collect his or her blood in a very small cup and then drink it. After drinking the blood, the victim’s ghost could not hunt us in dreams. That is what our leaders told us. And indeed, once we taste the blood of people we kill, we will not see them in our dreams.
