A British man named Konstandinos Erik Scurfield was frustrated with his government not doing anything against ISIS. Being a former Royal Marine, he decided to go to Syria to fight ISIS. He joined the Kurdish forces and combated against the jihadists himself. Just today it was reported that he was killed by mortar fire, and is now a martyr in the war against evil. I did a whole video on this:
Here are pictures of Konstandinos:
Konstandinos is the first Briton killed fighting against ISIS in Syria. His family released a statement saying:
We are devastated to confirm the death of our son Konstandinos Erik Scurfield in Syria where he went to support the forces opposing Islamic State. …His flame might have burned briefly but it burned brightly with love, courage, conviction and honour and we are very proud of him. We would like to request that we be allowed to grieve in peace as a family without intrusion at this difficult time.
Jordan Matson, a former US soldier who is fighting ISIS right now, described Konstandinos as a “disciplined warrior” who “volunteered for every attack and guard duty opportunity. He wanted nothing more than to bring the fight to the enemy”.
Konstandinos exemplifies the truest image of the warrior: someone who is so filled with love, that he sacrifices himself for others. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)
