Before you say “its just a flue,” over 17,000 people have been wiped out by covid-19 in just a matter of weeks, while the flue kills thousands in a year. As we read in a report from Reuters:
A total of 17,337 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospitals in Britain, an increase of 828 on the figure published 24 hours earlier, health ministry data showed on Tuesday.
The number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus has risen to 129,044.
The UK daily hospital death toll rose to a peak of 980 on April 9, but then oscillated between 717 and around 917 before falling to 596 on April 18 and 449 on April 19.
