Russia Makes New Law: Any Movies Showing Homosexuality Will Not Be Allowed

The Russian government has made a new law prohibiting any films showing homosexuality. As we read in Kommersant:

The government approved amendments to the “Rules for issuing, refusing to issue and revoking film distribution certificates”. The change was made in subparagraph “c” of clause 18, which lists the reasons why a rental certificate is not issued.

Previously, subparagraph “c” was as follows: “If the film contains information about the methods, methods for the development and manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors, materials that promote pornography, the cult of violence and cruelty.”

Now it is worded as follows: “If the film contains information about the methods, methods for the development and manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their precursors, materials that promote pornography, violence and cruelty, materials that promote non-traditional sexual relations and (or) preferences, pedophilia , gender reassignment.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin signed a law on a complete ban on LGBT propaganda in Russia. The law deals with the prohibition of LGBT propaganda, pedophilia and gender reassignment in advertising, books, films and the media.
