Several sources from the Middle East revealed that The Iraqi Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced that ISIS is deliberately bulldozing the ancient Assyrian city of Nimrod in the north of the country Thursday, after nearly a week of publishing a video showing the effects of the destruction in the city of Mosul.

The ministry said the extremist organization has today, “assaulted the city of Nimrud archaeological site and razed by heavy military vehicles,” in a statement posted on the official page of the Department of Media Relations.
Originally established by Nimrod (Gen. 10:11), and today known as Nimrud,Calah became an important city in Iraq. The artist’s reconstruction above shows the interior of Tiglath-pileser III’s palace there (late seventh century BC).
On a prophetic note, Micah 5 in the Bible has mention of Nimrod in a prophetic setting:
When the Assyrian comes into our land, and when he treads in our palaces, then we will raise against him seven shepherds and eight princely men. They shall waste with the sword the land of Assyria, and the land of Nimrod at its entrances; thus he shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he comes into our land and when he treads within our borders. Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, like dew from the LORD, like showers on the grass that tarry for no man nor wait for the sons of men.
In Micah 5 we are told that this Messiah would deliver Israel from the invading Antichrist, whom the passage links to “Nimrod” the founder of Babel, and refers to him as, “the Assyrian.” “And this man [the Messiah] shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, we will raise against him seven shepherds, even eight principled men. They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with drawn sword. He [Messiah] will deliver us from the Assyrian when he invades our land and marches into our borders” (Micah 5:2-6).
The Assyrian (Antichrist) will attack Israel. Messiah will be the one to defeat him and establish true peace. It also says that in the midst of this, “seven shepherds, even eight principled men” will be raised up by God to participate in the defeat of the Antichrist.
Remember what the verse says, “we will raise against him seven shepherds, even eight principled men. They will rule the land of Assyria with the sword, the land of Nimrod with drawn sword.”
They, the seven shepherds will destroy Assyria and Nimrod.
God will raise seven allies to help Israel in fighting against the Antichrist. These seven shepherds are rarely if ever discussed. The Bible describes in many cases that He will raise nations from the ends of the earth, far from the Middle East, to destroy Antichrist. Is it possible that seven righteous nations will stand on the side of Christ and Israel in the end? Could America be on this list of righteous defenders?
