Canadian Parliament Gives Standing Ovation to Sergeant-at-Arms who Shot Muslim Terrorist

When Canadian Parliament’s Sergeant-at-Arms Kevin Vickers heard gunfire inside the House of Commons, he grabbed his gun, left his office and ran toward the sound of the guns. He then shot Muslim terrorist Michael Abdul Zehaf-Bibeau, who was fast approaching the Chamber where many of the parliamentarians were located.

As Vickers entered the House one day later, to take his normal post, he was greeted by a standing ovation from everyone in the chamber. In a time when bad news seems to dominate, this really is an inspiring moment (h/t GWP):

Here is video of Vickers moments after the shooting in which he can be seen holding the gun he used to kill Zehaf-Bibeau and walking back to his office.
