Before Carrying out Islamic Terror attacks in Paris, Muslim Attacker Pledged Allegiance to ISIS Caliph

Before taking part in the Muslim terrorist attacks in France, Amedy Coulibaly made a video and pledged that what he was about to do would be done on behalf of ISIS and as an expression of support for Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who has a PhD in Islamic Studies. In the video, Coulibaly is seen with an ISIS flag behind him:

Here are some more details about the video, via the Washington Post:

The Islamic State released a video on Sunday in which one of the assailants in the Paris terror attacks posthumously claims that he carried out the attack in the name of the group.

The video shows Amedy Coulibaly, the man who killed four hostages at a Paris supermarket on Friday before he was fatally shot by police, pledging allegiance to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Speaking in French and occasionally lapsing into broken Arabic, he is shown wearing a flak vest, then a leather jacket and later a traditional African robe while he explains his motives for carrying out the attack and urges other Muslims also to take up arms.

Coulibaly, who also is thought to have fatally shot a French policewoman Thursday, is introduced as Abou Bassir AbdAllah al-Ifriqi and a “soldier of the caliphate.”

Coulibaly’s girlfriend Hayat Boumeddiene was reportedly able to travel to Syria through Turkey before the attacks, despite reports that Turkish authorities were monitoring her movements while she was near the Syria-Turkey border and did not pick her up.

If, as Barack Obama says, ISIS is not Islamic, how does he explain Coulibaly carrying out an act of terror in the name of defending Islam’s prophet while also pledging allegiance to ISIS?
