Turkey’s president has declared a state of emergency for three months following Friday night’s failed coup.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan was speaking after a cabinet meeting in Ankara.

The state of emergency was needed “in order to remove this threat as soon as possible”, Mr Erdogan said.

Turkish Constitution’s Article 15 says state of emergency allows for limitation or suspension of fundamental rights & freedoms.

Reuter’s journalist Ayla Jean tweeted:

This would include the right to live.

So besides taking away “fundamental rights and freedoms” it will be 90 days for more of Erdogan’s changes. So lets imagine what Erdogan did in the last 5 days and multiply that by 12.

But this time it is to redesign the parliament, change the laws and declare anyone who is against his party as ‘terrorist’. Erdogan then threatens the U.S:
