We’re learning more about the photo of Malik Obama donning a Hamas scarf while in Sanaa, Yemen in 2010, during a conference.
An article by Mareb Press promoted the conference before it took place with the following headline:
The “Commander” of the Gaza “Freedom flotilla” was also there. This is a reference to the head of the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), a terrorist group from Turkey that led the 2010 Gaza Flotilla. His name is Bülent Yildirim or “Captain Boland” and he too has donned a scarf very similar to Malik’s while expressing solidarity with Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh:
One of the events at the conference was a mass wedding at which thousands of orphans were married. Via Kol Al-Watn (translated):
The capital of Sanaa Thursday was the site of the largest mass wedding in the world for 3200 orphans at the expense of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
The mass wedding, which took place within the activities of the Third Global Forum, saw a crowd and a wide range of Arab and international personalities, led by the brother of U.S. President, Malik Hussein Obama, as well as the commander of the flotilla and high-level figures from the Arab Gulf countries.
When it comes to the Gaza Flotilla, here is how Israeli soldiers were treated by Yildirim’s extremist underlings. Remember, Israel was forced to apologize to Turkey by Malik’s brother Barack. Malik has expressed solidarity with the goals of the IHH and the Flotilla. Last year, he told GQ that he and his brother Barack remain ‘close’.
Moreover, despite the IHH being designated as a terrorist group by U.S. allies, the Obama administration refuses to do the same, via IPT:
…three years after a super-majority of U.S. senators asked the Obama administration to designate IHH, nothing has happened. The letter, signed by 87 senators from both parties, came weeks after IHH organized a flotilla in conjunction with the group Viva Palestina, headed by British parliamentarian George Galloway, tried to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza in support of Hamas.
That 87 Senators would unite on such an issue just a few months after the Obamacare law was signed is not insignificant. The Democrats had an overwhelming majority in the Senate at that time. Barack Obama’s refusal to identify the IHH as a terrorist entity speaks volumes, as does his brother’s appearance in Yemen just a few months later. The president has ignored the will of 87% of a body that has largely been very supportive of his agenda.
According to news reports, Mohammad Hassan Al-Bashir – the brother of Sudan’s president Omar Al-Bashir – was also in attendance at the 2010 conference. Malik was a prominent figure at the conference and can be seen in a photo, seated in the front row, right next to Abdul Muhsin Al-Zakri, the General Survervisor of the World Association of Muslim Youth (WAMY), which is linked to terrorism:
There is a very interesting comment posted at the bottom of an article by Al-Arabiya, which wrote about our findings last week. The comment is written by Ammar Al-Hamaiqani, who says – in Arabic – that he personally has photos of himself taken with President Obama’s brother at the conference. He also says that Malik actually helped fund it, which was billed as the Orphans Development Fund (ODF) Conference. Here is a screenshot of the comment:
As it turns out, Al-Hamaiqani is the name of a real person who works for the Government of Yemen. This would make Malik a heavy hitter at the conference.
This was a heavily promoted conference so Malik Obama had every opportunity to know who he would be rubbing elbows with.
Via Mareb Press (translated):
“70 organizations and international institutions will be represented. Most prominent are the Organization Islamic Conference (OIC), the Islamic Relief Organization (IRO), the Muslim World League (MWL), and the British Global Relief. He (Dr. Hamid Ziad, President of Orphan Development Fund) revealed that he will attend the activities of the Third Global Forum for the rehabilitation of orphan, which will continue for four days from October 18 – 21. The brother of U.S. President Obama (Abdul Malik Hussein Obama), as well as the commander of the ship to Gaza Freedom Flotilla the Turkish “Captain Boland’ will be there.”
In short, MWL is a Saudi operation that funds terror groups which spread Wahhabist Islam around the globe. The IRO and World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) are among them (see who is seated to Malik Obama in the above photo). These are also groups whose culpability in the worst attack on American soil the 9/11 Commission avoided identifying.
As Executive Director for Sudan’s Islamic Da’wa Organization (IDO), Malik Obama is associated with the Union of Good, an umbrella group that was identified as a terrorist organization by the U.S. Treasury Department. The IDO and WAMY are both supported by the UG (see photo of Malik with WAMY leader).
As we reported, the IDO has a bank account with Al-Shamal bank. In 2001, the Financial Times reported that the U.S. State Department determined that al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden invested $50 Million in the Sudan-based bank one year after it began operating in 1990.
In 2012, the Jerusalem Post reported that IHH head Yildirim was being investigated for his involvement in transferring funds to al-Qaeda:
Turkish legal authorities are investigating allegations that one of the key figures behind the May 2010 Gaza flotilla, Bülent Yildirim, was involved in transferring funds to al-Qaida, the Turkish daily Habertürk reported…
…According to the Intelligence and Information Center, an Israeli NGO, IHH is affiliated with Hamas and the Union of the Good, an Islamic umbrella group affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood
Just last month, it was reported by the Long War Journal that Turkish counterterrorism forces arrested several al-Qaeda members when they raided IHH locations.
In the weeks after the attack on U.S. installations in Benghazi on 9/11/12, Fox News’ Catherine Herridge reported on evidence that may link the IHH to the attack. According to the report, Al Entisar, a Libyan ship carrying weapons intended for the Syrian rebels, landed in Turkey just days before the attacks on the U.S. Compound and CIA Annex. The report further alleged that the IHH was the group accused of moving these weapons.
