‘Stop Blaming The Muslims For Your Problems – If You Didn’t Stop Believing In Christ And Then Start Selling Your Churches To The Muslims You Wouldn’t Be So Afraid’ Major Catholic Cardinal Gives The Hard Truth To Europe

Cardinal Schönborn of Austria is one of the most respected voices in the Church today. In a recent interview, he said out his opinion on the major issues of European politics today such as the Muslim invasion of Europe, the apostasy of the European people, religious freedom, refugees, Brexit, and American President Elect Donald Trump:

When asked the question “Will Islam conquer Europe?”

The cardinal, once considered in the running as a possible Pope or “papabile”, said: “When we see that the mosques are well visited and the churches are badly visited, we can not blame Muslims for wanting to Islamise Europe. But we must reproach ourselves for not doing enough to maintain a Christian Europe.”

He said that as a Christian, he would like the Middle East to become Christian again, as it once was

“Of course I wish this because I believe that Christianity is not only my personal religion, but a religion that is a good religion despite all the mistakes that have happened. So I can not blame the Muslims if they want Europe to become Islamic. That’s not my problem.”

He said that of course he did not wish St Stephen’s Cathedral to become St Stephen’s Mosque.

“Of course, I wish that the St. Stephan’s Cathedral remains a living Christian house of God, a place of prayer and not just a tourist attraction for five million tourists a year.

On apostasy and the selling of the churches:

It is not Muslims’ fault if Europe is being de-Christianised, the cardinal added.

“But we already have 200 Islamic places of prayer in Vienna. We have mosques in cathedrals in Spain, and we have, for example, in Damascus, the cathedral, where John the Baptist is now a mosque, and we have Hindu temples in India, which were formerly mosques, and vice versa .

Fear of the Islamisation of Europe is nonsensical if one does not contribute something to the fact that Europe remains Christian. But, of course, if a church is sold in the Netherlands and transformed into a supermarket, when the supermarkets are more important to us than the Christian roots of Europe, we must not be surprised that Europe de-Christianises. But it is not the fault of the Muslims.

On religious freedom:

“That religions are in competition with each other is as old as the world. I am pleased that Muslims can freely exercise their religion with us, but I also wish that Christians in Saudi Arabia were able to practise their religion freely, and in other Muslim majority countries.”

On refugees:

The key issue Austria is facing is the integration of refugees, the cardinal said.

Some refugees abuse Austria’s hospitality and become criminal. “Where does tolerance, mercy, charity end? There, where it also ends for Austrian citizens. Crime is crime. And as with the people of Austria, there are also among the refugees those who abuse social benefits. But it would not be right to conclude that all refugees do this.”

On Brexit:

Schönborn also said Brexit was “unfortunate” because “European cohesion is incomparably better than the European antagonism we have suffered for centuries.”

On President Trump:

And he urged the world not to rush to judgement against Donald Trump before giving him a chance to show what he can do.

There were also shaking of heads when Ronald Reagan was elected but Reagan was one of the best presidents the US ever had, he said.

“So you should not judge rashly. This applies to Trump and that applies to everything.”

  • What the Cardinal said reminds me of what Dr. Josh McDowell said about the “DaVinci Code,” “Instead of pointing the finger at Dan Brown, we should be pointing them at ourselves.” He went to describe that the Church have done poorly in educating and teaching the timeless truth of the Gospels as taught from time immemorial.

    • Kevin Nicholson

Yes, revival in our hearts and minds…evangelizing is an outflow of good and faithful servants. Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.

  • DeusLoVult

I agree with him on all points except Brexit (“European cohesion” has never existed and will never exist) and ‘refugees’. (They may not all be criminals. but they are still destabilizing the West) We bare some blame for creating the problem, however.

  • Julie

Thanks for bringing forward the article!

There is another one out there by the ‘Atlantic’ on the papacy that gives history that resonates with my experience in the Church since the 1970’s and gives background why there are those who think the Church will cave into modern thinking on matters of faith and sexual morals.

  • Andy Holland

Let’s be more blunt – a fish stinks from the head. Start preaching repentance, throw the rascals out of the Vatican, stop pandering to CINO politicians and judges who support abortion and LGBTQ “marriage”.

Pope Francis is right about getting the smell of the sheep: but you better be a sheep and not a wolf. The love of money has infested the Church and that with lust for power have polluted it terribly.

    • Julie

To me it all sounds like the ‘Seamless Garment’.

      • Andy Holland

Yes – or a body with a stiff neck. Christ is the head, but the neck has been in traction.

    • Michelle Therese

The Catholic Church very stupidly got in bed with Western Governments in exchange for handouts of $$ Money Money Money $$ and that was a mega mistake. We need our Church to disentangle from tax exemptions and government grants and taxes from the State etc etc. Better to be a smaller and more poor Church then a Church that the State is always bossing around because we are owned!

  • Eric Mueller

The world will only be able to deny God for so long. Sooner or later they will be confronted with their actions and they will pay very dearly.

“23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. 25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. 28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.”

  • Renato Steri

Yes, i agree. The apostasy of Christians, the separation of church and state, the filosophy (Nietsche and likes), darwinism, lutheranism, psychoanalysis are the modern heresies and reasons of weakness in confrontation with Islam. What I think that the Cardinal doesn’t get is that Mohammed was inspired by devil, he heard voices and also wanted to suicide. He showed all the typical signs of demonic possession as described by major exorcists. The fruits of this tree are evil: pedophilia, prostitution, rape and fornication, homosexuality, violence, murder and genocide, slavery, devil worship and sacrifice just to name some. Islam is evil while Christianity is the only narrow way to salvation of the soul. Unfortunately the sacerdotes has ceased to believe in devil these days, thus enabling him to work undisturbed.

Cardinal Schönborn made some good points, I’m glad he spoke out, but is anyone listening. It reminded me of the interview posted here some months ago with a French
Catholic priest who said the Islamification of Europe is God’s
punishment for Europe’s secularism. That is not an exact quote, but it
    was words to that effect.

On Sept 11 he said that Muslims believe their hour is at hand, and warned that an “Islamic conquest” may be in Europe’s future. Speaking in the Cathedral of Vienna on Sunday, Sept. 11, the feast day that commemorates the decisive
victory of a Christian coalition over the Ottoman Empire in the Battle
of Vienna in 1683, 333 years ago. Before going to war, the Polish king, a devout Catholic, had entrusted
his kingdom to the Blessed Virgin, Our Lady of Czestochowa.

The emptying of Europe’s churches is the result of the all-religion-good fantasy. That fantasy would gain no traction among Christians if churchmen didn’t betray their trust by promoting the fantasy themselves. Deeply respected Cardinal Schönborn, please take note.

  • PaulF

The Catholic Church will be cleaned up. It’s a bit hard to understand some of the stuff going on in recent times I admit, but it will be cleaned up once and for all; the biblical prophecies tell us that. A church that survives two thousand years in spite of so much human failure is a church not built by human hands.

  • Tom_mcewen

Where was Peter’s wife, the daughter of the mother when she was sick? Strangely missing, not there to comfort or help her mother. Maybe she was dead, is that possible? Knowing the duties owed a guest, Jesus comes over her threshold and no one washes his feet, no drink to calm his parched throat, maybe you are reading your hostility towards Peter who is not your apostle, but you follow Paul who as we all know was the true leader as testified by his eleven letters vs Peter’s two. Yes in fact I heard more Paul then I ever heard that poor Theologian called Jesus, that loony thought you were to judged on your words and deeds, too bad he didn’t read Paul where you are saved and have an assurance that your saved. Boy, God the Father is stupid.

    • Nan

Peter’s MIL acting as hostess is our indication that his wife is dead.

I wouldn’t take Paul as the true leader; Paul was apostle to the Gentiles, a later addition after participating in the martyrdom of St. Stephen.

    • Kkdgrace

Tom……you are so “Tom”. Not one for mincing words, are you? Perhaps that is why I enjoy reading many of your comments. May God bless you brother.

  • Another rock tossed in the village well.

    Well, here goes:

“In Ezekiel 8, God calls the people bowing with their faces to the sun
    the greatest abomination.”

Yet, the very Scriptures says God is the Sun of Righteousness and underneath His wings are healing (Malachi 4:2). Is God pagan? Or is this another poetry language of the Scriptures to describe the majesty of God?

“The Catholic church demands ‘priests’ celibacy, claiming Simeon Peter as their head.
    Yet Simeon Peter was married.
In all three gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, it says: Simeon Peter’s wife’s mother
lay sick of a fever and Jesus healed her.”

The Church have an ironclad reason for demanding priests to be chastised. From the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ:

” 11 But He said to them, “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it,” (Matthew 18).

You are arguing against the Lord Himself. Bad move.

Indeed, Peter was married however the Scriptures is very quiet on the whereabouts of his wife, suggesting she had died and Peter, being a Middle Eastern, took care of her mother. Even Protestant interpreters acknowledges this to their chargin.

“Jesus says you bow to no man: but one day all shall bow to Him.”

Indeed, during the reciting of the Creed, when we profess along this line, “Jesus, for our sake, became man” we all bow in order to show our gratitude and humility That Jesus being fully God became fully Man for our sake.

The biggest mover and shaker of “Chrislam” are coming from evangelicals. Chrislam is already here and has been exposed on this site. Search “Shoebat” and “Chrislam.”

The priest is blaming the lack of children among Europeans and he is right.

Now I have taken your rock out of the well please find a anti-Catholic website and stay there.

  • He has a point that those that should be practising the Christian faith aren’t. The allures and cares of life have distracted many. I am not so sure the cardinal understands Islam is not here to integrate, but to conquer. I also disagree with his view of Brexit.

  • Michelle Therese

Islam is filling the vacuum void left by the lack of Christians!

    “Nature abhors a vacuum…”

  • Who is behind this?

The hint was revealed in th first line, “One of the long-standing goals of the Masonic New World Order seems finally within grasp: its one-world church, in the making for over 150 years, is about to become institutionalized as the United Religions Organization—the UR. Collaborating on the details are Bishop William Swing of the Episcopal Diocese of California, the Communist Gorbachev Foundation/USA, and certain leaders of the Catholic Church, working through the interreligious organization known as the World Conference on Religion and Peace.”

It also said “certain leaders”. It is known that communist agents infiltrated the Church in order to try and undermine the mission of the Church from within.

By the way, that was written back in 1997, 20 years old and outdated.

And I also noted the author described the events as “blasphemous” which tells me you are cherry picking the articles in order to push a specific agenda.

Again, I have to pull the rock out of the village well. I would think you would learn but given your nature you will try again.

  • WND has ZERO credibility after heavily promoting Johathan Cahn, exposed by Walid and myself.

Now The End Begins is another Protestant driven site with interpretations of the Apocalypse way, way out there.

Jihad Watch, run by a Robert Spencer had been exposed to be in bed with N*zis.

    Honestly do your homework better.

    • Craig Sawyer

      who’s WND

  • Grace Ziem

What is your basis for this?

  • Grace Ziem

Thank you for this interesting video. I had been told Mohammed’s first wife was catholic. This is information that needs to be more widely studied.

  • Grace Ziem

Muslims don’t need an excuse to kill Christians, and it is false to try to appease. Much gospel teaching is lost in appeasement efforts. Faithfulness to Christ and His Word is needed.

  • disqus_vM1Ts0vZ7C

Well, I guess you are saying Rick Warren promotes Chrislam.
If this is what you are saying, then yes, your statement is correct.

  • Talking to the wrong person.

    • Craig Sawyer

It’s Shoebat doing it, once a Muslim always a Muslim.
This is an info and debate/discussion page Walid so leave peoples comments alone.

      • It is Walid’s site. As such, he has the right to monitor comments and which mean he can delete your comment which by the way is slander. Disqus is just a commenting tool that include some of the best moderating tools I have seen and that mean he is given freedom to do as he choose with comments.

  • PaulF

I grew up in the Catholic Church when it was for the most part as clean as a new whistle. Then they started praising the filthy religions and all hell broke loose, literally. Praising false religions (religions that reject Christ) is a form of sacrificing to other gods. And about that Scripture says, ‘He who sacrifices to other gods will be placed under the curse of destruction’ (Exodus 22:19).
The darkness will end when the Church wakes up to what has caused it.

  • Nan

Russia has been Orthodox since Prince Vladimir invited leaders from major world religions to come and explain to him why he should pick theirs. He picked Orthodoxy, becoming a Christian long after his grandmother, St. Olga had done so. Russia has therefore never had much of a Catholic population; yes, there have been Jesuits in Russia, where they were allowed to remain during the time the order was suppressed, but the reason Russia isn’t Catholic is Prince Vladimir.
