Trey Gowdy talks ‘Phony’ Benghazi and IRS Scandals

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) appeared with Greta Van Susteren to talk about Obama’s reference to ‘phony scandals’ and said that the Obama administration is actually changing the names of Benghazi witnesses and scattering them across the country. The conversation starts with whether the IRS scandal is ‘phony’ and then turns to Benghazi at about the 1:50 mark.

We’re still waiting for the Malik Obama angle to the IRS scandal to rear its head but so far, it hasn’t been brought up. We know of at least one member on the House Ways and Means committee who has expressed interest in that scandal. Ways and Means is one of two committees that is investigating the IRS.

What is truly disheartening in general is that more Republicans aren’t behaving like Gowdy. Instead, we’re left with imagining the possibilities. Unfortunately, it isn’t just about too many House Republicans not following Gowdy’s lead; it’s about those who are following Obama’s immigration agenda.

Recently, Americans For Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) identified eight House Republicans who are “Conspiring with Obama on Amnesty for Illegals. That these congressmen are putting so much energy into helping Obama avoid accountability by working to give him what he wants is beyond inexplicable. Like what Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) received, perhaps these individuals are seeking a congratulatory call from Obama.

Obama to Republicans: Forget those 'Phony' scandals. Just grant amnesty.

Obama to Republicans: Forget those ‘Phony’ scandals. Just grant amnesty.

Here is the list from ALIPAC:

The ‘phony scandals’ line is still the proverbial burr under the saddle of non-mindless Americans but Obama also referred to the term ‘stale debates’ when referencing those scandals. Here is Obama on July 24 at his now infamous campaign speech as a second term president in a non-election year:
