NORTH CAROLINA County Commissioner causes Muslim anger by saying, “Only Christian prayers are welcome at county meetings”

By BI: A Lincoln County Commissioner, Carrol Mitchem, says non-Christian prayer is not welcome in Lincoln County government meetings that he is a part of and that he plans on keeping it that way.

Charlotte Observer  Lincoln County Board of Commissioners Chairman Carrol Mitchem told WBTV that any prayer from a “minority religion” would not be heard before county meetings if he has a say in the matter.

“Other religions, or whatever, are in the minority. The U.S. was founded on Christianity,” Mitchem said. “I don’t believe we need to be bowing to the minorities. The U.S. and the Constitution were founded on Christianity. This is what the majority of people believe in, and it’s what I’m standing up for.”

WBTV contacted Mitchem after a report was published in the Lincoln Times-News. In that report, Mitchem was asked about Rowan County, which was ordered earlier in the week by a federal court to stop opening meetings with a sectarian prayer. A federal judge ruled the Rowan County Board of Commissioners violated the Constitution when they held prayers before public meetings that were specific to one religion – Christianity.

“Changing rules on the way the United States was founded, Constitution was founded I don’t like,” Mitchem told the paper. “I don’t need no Arab or Muslim or whoever telling me what to do or us here in the county what to do about praying. If they don’t like it, stay the hell away.”

Mitchem echoed that sentiment to WBTV on Friday.“I ain’t gonna have no new religion or pray to Allah or nothing like that,” Mitchem said. He added that anyone who doesn’t want to hear a Christian prayer can leave and “wait until we’re done praying.

“We’re fighting Muslims every day. I’m not saying they’re all bad,” Mitchem said. “They believe in a different God than I do. If that’s what they want to do, that’s fine. But, they don’t need to be telling us, as Christians, what we need to be doing. They don’t need to be rubbing our faces in it.”

A letter to the Islamic Center in Charlotte says “We are prepared for the Muslim war that is going on overseas to begin in the streets right here.”

A letter to the Islamic Center in Charlotte says “We are prepared for the Muslim war that is going on overseas to begin in the streets right here.”

Jibril Hough, spokesman for the terror-linked Islamic Center of Charlotte, said such attitudes go against the principles on which the country was founded. “If you don’t believe the rights of the minority are equal to the rights of the majority, then you are against what America stands for,” (Nowhere in the Muslim world do they believe that) Hough said. “That’s why we live in a democratic republic.”

Muslims, he added, “pray to the God of Abraham, the same God Christians and Jews pray to.” (NO, they don’t. Don’t drag Jews into your argument, Jews aren’t complaining, only muslims are)

In addition to Judaism and Christianity, Hough added, “Prophet Mohammed and Islam are recognized as being influences on some of the founding fathers.” (In a pig’s eye they are. Muslims had nothing to do with the founding of America)

Unknown-1

Lincoln County Commissioner Alex Patton told the Lincoln News-Times that until about six months ago, he or former commissioner Carl Robinson gave the invocation before the council meetings. Since then, a couple of religious leaders from the county have been rotating in to give the prayer.

Patton also told the paper that he didn’t think anyone would be denied the opportunity to give the invocation because of their beliefs. He said that it was “simply a matter of Lincoln County having 102 churches and all 102 representing the Christian faith.”

“I am a Christian, but I do not agree with commissioner Mitchem,” Patton told WBTV by email. “Our country was founded on freedom of religion. All Muslims are not bad, just as all Christians are not good.”

What’s up with n. Carolina?? the other day you can’t pray in Jesus Christ name now this.

    • RodK1975

We aren’t immune from this BS… the war rages in every city, in every county, in every state to some varying degree…

      • andrea

You are from n. Carolina Rod aren’t you? Well it is nice to hear from someone who lives there. Watched an old movie the other day someone was on trial. The newspapers printed 2 headlines one said the person was guilty the other they were innocent. Crazy

      • Willing to die for Jesus

condolences for coming from the State that has the Islamo-filth lover Lindsay Graham… effeminate McCain & him… RINOs… behead them! lynch them!

        • RodK1975

          Lindsey Graham’s from South Carolina… (Thank God)…

    • Trevor

Don’t worry. BBQ is still big in the state and they wouldn’t let it go.

      • RodK1975

Yeah… Exactly… I’d like to see them come and tell this crowd they can’t sit around and drink a cooler full of beer while they pit cook a ‘hawg’ and smother it all in vinegary and salty BBQ sauce and then eat that sucker with some slaw, potato salad and corn bread. That would start a war and i don’t think they are prepared for that kind of backlash. And keep in mind, EVERYONE around here is well heeled. These deer hunters are great snipers with their .30-06 and 7mm Mag rifles. That’s what they do, they climb trees wearing camouflage, sit still for hours on end and shoot deer hundreds of yards away.

        • Trevor

Don’t forget the mountain men, the country bumpkins, and those freedom loving folks who don’t take kindly to being told what they cannot do.

          • RodK1975

            Dang right!

        • Steve Smith

Seen women down South do the same thing, God help you if you get crossways with them. some were better shots than the men.

          • RodK1975

Absolutely, Steve… Some of the ladies (and I stress ‘LADIES’) down here can throw around a deer rifle or an AR like a Marine… Like I’ve said before, my brother is training my 8-year old niece on a .22…

          • Steve Smith
          • Delta Rain

Yeah, I watched a video of women in burkas shooting their rifles… I had to critique on their mistakes… They might hit something if they aim at the ground due to the recoil action…. Maybe? I prefer my shotgun with targets and my little baby 25 in my boot, but I don’t hunt. My niece is the true deer hunter and taught her 11 yr old son well.. He’s bagged a giant alligator and a wild hog along with his deer and he will lecture on the value on not wasting a bullet. LOL! A wild hog came in my yard and became a visiting pet? I don’t scare ’em, I just fatten ’em up.. Thankful that some creatures actually likes my cooking. I just scare people, not animals…. Had a possum just stroll up on my porch, sit in my rocking chair, eating chicken feed like popcorn and looked at me like…Is this all ya got? Raccoons sidle next to the cats (which aren’t mine) and eat at the same dish.. I get no respect here. Just wait! as soon as the nest of birds on my porch get finished and fly away, I’m screening it in, by granny!

          • Linda

Speaking of the woman in the burka, did you see the one on You Tube who left a huge turd right in front of a public elevator ?

          • Willing to die for Jesus

how could we forget… it proved the moral that Muslim women don’t wear panties – just like Britney Spears who TWICE was snapped without her PANTIES on getting out of the car (remember that all those years ago when she was a somebody); thanks Shoebats for showing us that our women in the West aren’t that bad really compared to the Muslim women covering themselves in tents and hijabs and their hypocritical self-righteousness; those Muslim dresses just resemble their own shame 🙂

        • Linda

You are making me hungry, but no beer. You should open up a place that sells halla pork BBQ. Name it MoHAMheads with a sign “rag heads welcome” Or 10% discount for rag heads.
Or You Mecca Me Hot BBQ, MoHAMheads Favorite.

    • Willing to die for Jesus

we can only see the surface of the Battle… between the armies of God, His angels and the armies of the Enemy and his minions… waging against each other for Man’s soul… using the Islamo-Left is the Devil’s way

  • Willing to die for Jesus

that idiot convert chose of all names the Devil or Demon that appeared to Mohammed ‘Jibril’ a perversion of our St Gabriel

    • andrea

Have you looked up ascended masters? Yes they are real and appearing to these morons. I like what the bible.says check the spirit to see.if they be of God or of the devil. They have various names. You have to look it up then you can see where these people in charge are working with. I do mean they are the fall in angels. They said america was the new Atlantis. They claim to be Samuel the prophet Paul.the epistle and they beat.up.america.

      • Willing to die for Jesus

yes you are right and I have looked up this stuff. God bless you and your family immensely in our Crucified Lord Jesus Christ’s precious name.

      • RodK1975

Right on, Andrea. The Aquarian Christine Church and so on. Every religion is set up to accept the Antichrist as their Messiah. They are all wide open and ready and he will fit what everyone is looking for, even, sadly, a lot of mislead Christians. That’s why we have to constantly go over, check and evaluate our thinking and our views and check, double check and triple check our understanding with the Bible to make sure we have the right understanding.

        • VikingCelt

          Amen, rodk!

      • Delta Rain

I saw a post from that New Age, occult, (Oprah-backing) preacher, Joel Olsten, rebuking Paul, Peter and John; Claiming that Homosexuals are welcome in heaven. Many people are allowing themselves to be fooled.

        • VikingCelt

Wow, I knew he was a heretic, but I haven’t heard of him saying that.

          • RodK1975

            Bingo!

            2 Timothy 4:3-4

            3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

This “Abrahamic” business and Jews, Christians & Muslims all worship the same God has gotta stop! Thanks Walid for speaking Truth, a very intellectual former Prof now doing his 2nd doctorate, Mark Durie, whose written books on Muslim atrocities, or how evil their religion is, is of all things a Church of England minister too (who would’ve thought a man of God), and his doctorate is on this issue itself (his thesis is clearly Christians & Muslim DO NOT worship the same God)… Mark Durie is another good Christian anti-Muslim, exposing Muslim persecution of Christians… he’s Australian

  • Kamau41

Bravo BIG TIME to Carroll Mitchem. Another righteous man passionately and boldly fighting and standing up for Christianity!! God bless this man.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

WOW praise God for this Godly Man, now this is a Man with B***s:

“I don’t need no Arab or Muslim or whoever telling me what to do or us here in the county what to do about praying. If they don’t like it, stay the h*ll away.”

AMEN, Praise be to God to this Leader.

    ……..

Now compare to that quisling of a convert with his Islamo-philia and sedition…. let’s play it by the Islamic book then, let’s just imagine if you will, if this ‘Jibril’ was a Christian before and has now converted to the Anti-Christ religion, should he be allowed to keep that head which spews forth garbage?

[ps: this post was pending because I copy/pasted the quote and it had H*ll in it!

Amongst all the bad news of the Twisters causing so much devastation, this bit of good news gives hope.

God be with all today as one bit of hope may grow that others will take a stand in the name of Christianity.

Pity the twisters do not send the Muslims scampering back to their heathen countries, or smash them.

My thoughts also go out to Nepal that again is rocked by another earthquake. 7.4 today.

  • Jeff

All states should start making a stand like this man did, I support him 100% we need to fight back against the evil that is trying to minimize GOD in this country, This Country was built around GOD NOT Allah, if you cant handle that, get the heck out of this country and go pray in a country that does pray to Allah!!! If your in this country pray to who you want, but leave OUR CHRISTIAN RELIGEON ALONE!!!

  • knight
  • AnthonyM

Good for him, hope he can stick to his principles.

  • Delta Rain

Maybe we could toss them a little bit of credit for contributing to our need to create a fierce naval military to halt their thieving, killing and kidnapping of our traders’ ships on the Barbary Coast. Not to mention the Barlow error made in the treaty of Tripoli, stating that America was not founded on Christianity. But it became null and void anyway when the treaty was broken… But even then, they were an evil influence, attempting to erase our Christianity.

  • Lenn

Good for him, to stand firm on that! Moslems pray to the devil, so of course Christians should not mingle with them in any way!

  • richinnameonly

Thank God. Someone has to take a stand.

  • VikingCelt

Good for that commissioner. It’s about time.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

Jesus also told us to be a PUBLIC WITNESS so that people can see we are a people SET APART and so that the pagan masses may be CURIOUS as to why we live and do as we do and may enquire as to WHOM AND WHY we do and believe and pray…. not to hide our faith like we’re persecuted in a Muslim country (well it feels like that in much of the West, you would think so, but Cultural Marxism which is the order of the day is basically in bed with Islam…. and when you mix the two you get…. an OBAMA… a self-proclaimed “Cultural Marxist” AND Muslim

  • Linda

Every mosque in America should be blown up at the same time. The rag head men should be rounded up when they have their butts in the air. They should all be sent to the muslim country of their choice. They had NOTHING to do with the founding of this country. They DO NOT serve the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob. They serve a god of hate. islam is a religion started by lucifer himself.

    • Willing to die for Jesus

Anything to get their attention to stop Christian Persecution would be right about now, considering it’s probably never been worse and the Church so globally persecuted, it all seems so co-ordinated too..

  • Cody Baker

If the Muslims want a prayer… tell ’em to walk a block down the street to their Mosque and pray there. They’re in America… not in a Muslim country.

    • Willing to die for Jesus

You’re quite the gentleman, I would’ve just said they’re occupying valuable land and send them packing back home, whether they’re born in the US or a convert, while we’re shredding the Constitution and not paying any attention to it right now, and it’s anarchy season (both their residences and their masquerading mosques, aka, weapons cache warehouses, which also moonlight as ‘prayer’ centers for devil worship

  • Willing to die for Jesus

wow is he outdoing Benny Hinn now?

  • Willing to die for Jesus

Thank you! I’m sensing RINOs are the worst … “wolves in sheep’s clothing”… at least the Dems let their (evil) yes be their yes, and their (evil) nos be their nos.
God bless you. You never know what you’re gonna get with a RINO….

  • Willing to die for Jesus

thank you for your post, and the book suggestion, I learnt quite a bit from it, God bless you.

  • Willing to die for Jesus

Wow thanks for this story – just goes to show you the power of CHRISTIAN PRAYER and how it separates the wheat from the chaff. God bless you and Pastor Wright of Kansas!

  • VikingCelt

Jesus did not say not to pray in public, He said not to make a show of yourself in public with your prayers, like the Parisees who were making loud prayers for the sole purpose of drawing attention to themselves, to show how “righteous ” they were. They were being arrogant and haughty. THAT is what Jesus was saying no to do. The better alternative is to go into your closet and pray in private, rather than make a show about yourself. But that does not mean people shouldn’t pray in public. Jesus did it often, so did the disciples and early Christians, plus Christians throughout the centuries have done so. You’ve misunderstood what Jesus was saying.

    • RodK1975

      Thank you…

  • VikingCelt

I don’t have TV. So I only see parts of his sermons when I’m at work and a patient has his show on. The few times I’ve seen him that way, I heard enough from him to tell me he is no man of God. I have heard him say he thinks God will forgive unrepentant persons who lived good lives, I just never heard the gay thing. But it doesn’t surprise me at all. He’s a Dr. Feelgood of the spiritual kind, tickling itching ears, who want to hear they aren’t really all that sinful and don’t have to repent. What a bad judgment day that man will have.

  • VikingCelt

He knows that. He was quoting someone who was saying we all worship the same god.

  • VikingCelt

    Amen!

  • VikingCelt

Well, sort of. There was a god called allah, but it was the moon god of the pan theistic Arabs, and it was Muhammad’s favourite deity. He decided that this Allah would be the only god. Those pagan gods were among the original gods of the Mesopotamians, the ones the Old Testament referred to as the baals.

  • VikingCelt

Yes I’m aware of all that, about Allah. Where I would disagree with you is that Aisha was, by all accounts, a Muslim.

  • VikingCelt

It’s possible she may have rejected it later – I never heard that much. But in the Hadith, you can see she followed Islam.

    • Kriemhild

Don’t believe any hadith, all Muslims lie and will twist anything around to make it suit what they want to portray. She rejected Islam from the very beginning, I would say from her ninth birthday when she was raped.
I recently read that Bukhari collected more than 700,000 hadiths, but 99 per cent of them could not be used because they were too obscene or viscious to be presented to ordinary People and would have a negative effect..

      • VikingCelt

Yes, that is true about the hadiths.

  • VikingCelt

Hey, hey! That kind of response is unnecessary. Willing is not American, so he is not going to necessarily have all the facts on which politicians are in what state. And neither should we expect that. He has his own nation’s politics to be more focused on. And those are naturally more important to him. Let’s try showing a little grace please.

  • VikingCelt

Hee-hee! A sister after my own heart.

  • VikingCelt

I grew up in a Muslim country and am well versed in Islam. All those stories I am familiar with. We just never heard of her not being a Muslim or of her hating Muhammed. It was completely normal in their culture already, for women and girls to be married off very young, even before Muhammed. So it wouldn’t have been a surprise that her parents would approve of her being married so young. As to her not liking it, I don’t think most of those girls much like it or ever really did. Being a female myself, I know I would have hated it. If I had been Aisha, I probably would have killed him myself, regardless of the consequences to myself afterwards.

  • VikingCelt

Oh, gotcha now. Sorry about that, then. Yes, I agree with you!
