Church Invites Muslims To Recite Koran And Blaspheme Jesus’ Divinity During Services For Epiphany

Epiphany is one of the important holy days of the Christian year, as it is the celebration of the revelation of God to the world through the coming of the Wise Men. On this holy day, the Anglican Communion’s Church of St. Mary’s in Glasgow, Scotland invited a Muslim woman to recite part of the Koran for the service. If this was not bad enough, the Muslim woman then added several more verses in Arabic that directly blaspheme the divinity of Christ into her “recitation”:

The passage being recited is from Surah 19, ‘Mary’ and includes some apocryphal material about Jesus speaking as a baby from the cradle. This is pretty docetic stuff and a little infant speaking adult words is a kind of ‘superhuman’ Jesus that is miles away from the Biblical view. The source of this material is from the Syriac Infancy Gospel, an apocryphal document from the fifth or sixth century. Needless to say, it’s not even vaguely ‘Scripture’ and Michael Nazir-Ali is right to condemn the use of it in a church service by Kelvin Holdsworth, the Provost of Glasgow.

There is, however, another dimension to this service that hasn’t yet been picked up in commentary, which should disturb Anglicans everywhere far more than simply telling fairy tales about Jesus in a church. The liturgy for the service includes an English language copy of what is being recited in Arabic. Here it is.

The text in the service sheet stops at Ayah 33 (the equivalent of a Bible verse) but this is not where Miss Javed stops. She continues to recite from the Qu’ran and includes the following verses that follow straight after the text above.

34 That is Jesus, the son of Mary – the word of truth about which they are in dispute.
35 It is not [befitting] for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is.
36 [Jesus said], “And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path.”

The recitation finishes with the words, ‘Allah, the Almighty, has spoken the truth’. This a standard liturgical suffix to a reading, the equivalent of saying, ‘This is the Word of the Lord’. The reading is being offered as a proclamation of God’s word, his truth.

These extra Ayah teach two clear things. First, Jesus is not the son of God and is not divine. Second, Jesus should not be worshipped. These are the two doctrines that were proclaimed from the pulpit in Glasgow Cathedral on the Feast of the Epiphany, the celebration of Jesus being revealed to the nations. What kind of revelation is that?

There are a few options as to what is going on here. The first is that Kelvin Holdsworth is very naive and didn’t realise the context of Surah 19 when he invited Miss Javed to speak. Do we really expect that kind of ignorance from a Cathedral Provost? What a mistake to make. The second option is that the Provost did know the context of Surah 19, was aware of what Ayah 34 to 36 taught but didn’t bother to highlight to Miss Javed the problems that might be caused by including those verses in her recitation. That seems to me to be incredibly negligent, allowing a potentially blasphemous reading to be used on a major Christian festival.(source)

Notice how verses 34 through 36 (noted earlier) were conveniently omitted, but added by the Muslim.

This story has several layers to it.

First, the fact that the Muslim woman was invited to sing at a Church parts of the Koran is just blasphemous, regardless of the holiday. The Koran is a book “transmitted”- channelled- to Mohammed which blasphemes Christ. We and many people have written about its erroneous doctrines and the license it gives men to sin. It no place in a Church. The fact this woman was allowed to even sing it reflects worse on the state of the Anglican church than it does of the Muslims. We know what the Muslims will do- that is no surprise. The treachery is that the leadership would betray the faithful through such an action.

Second, was the fact this happened during Epiphany. Again, it speaks more to the state of the Anglican Church, but do have her come on such as day is a horrible blasphemy. It leads one to question if the members of the clergy even believe in Jesus’ divinity.

Third, was the fact that nobody in the hierarchy seems to actually care. Again, another statement about the situation of the Church, but still terrible. It is one thing if a cleric does something inappropriate- that is, while sad, not unexpected. However, it is another thing when the people above him refuse to do anything about it that speaks more. It is not merely a “lack of leadership,” but it is an indication of how deep the apostasy has penetrated into the ranks.

While there are some signs of hope, the fact is that apostasy has deeply penetrated into Western society and the rise of Islam in the West today is the fruit of this apostasy. Islam has always been the long-standing enemy of the Faith, and it was the Faith that kept Islam away from Europe’s shores. However, since Europe has abandoned the Faith and continues to persist in rejecting it, they are reaping the fruits of their apostasy. This is just one way it manifests.

Europe has two choices. Either it will return to the Faith which brought it into existence and will being a long fight rooted in the Catholic militancy of its past to purge the Mohammedan heresy from its society, or it will complete its apostasy and commit suicide before the house of Islam. America faces the same choice too- it is just delayed by a few more years, but it is coming too.

Choose wisely– where you spend eternity may depend on it.

  • The “revelation” in the Surah is clearly borrowed from Arianism. It’s amazing more people don’t study Arianism and what the heretical priest pushed and how it led to further persecution of Catholics under Constantine who preferred Arianism over orthodoxy.

      • I don’t think that is the full quote. Ok have to read up but what I do know is Athansius was aghast that Arius taught that Christ had no beginning which goes against what the Scriptures testifies.

  • Flame blue

Well one way of not knowing what’s been said in the church during a lesson or service is to have it recited in a language only the reader knows.

If Christians want to destroy their churches then they are going the right way about it. I certainly won’t stay in a Church with that going on! It seems that it’s going to be left to God to preserve God’s word, where Jesus says that the seas and mountains will be gone but his Word will never be destroyed, because Christians, Muslims, Athiests, and all, are determined to stop the truth.

There’s no point in believing in Jesus if we don’t believe He is our Saviour, and if we are going to allow Muslims to come into our churches and state Jesus is not divine, was not crucified, is not our Saviour, woe who will save us from hell for we are pathetic creatures without hope! It is Satan who takes away hope! To invite ‘death’ dressed in flesh to spout spiritual death in your church is to commit spiritual suicide.

Islam is going to be sold as being little different from Christianity, still respects Jesus, should be accommodated in our churches. That Muslim woman knows what she did, even if the Christians do not know she triumphed and Islam won a battle.

    • Kevin Nicholson

“… Islam won a battle” in further condemning themselves….

“But because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each one according to his deeds.”…”
      Romans 2:5-6

      • Flame blue

Well l mean that to the Islamic mind they are winning, fooling us, gaining respect and concessions. However, we are just submitting to them, we are respecting that they have rights to not believe Jesus is divine, or suffered for us to become our Saviour, we are even inviting them into our churches to preach their apostasy and error to us, and accepting that there are two rights and muslims are as right as Christians. However, Christians are not invited into Islamic worship space to preach Jesus because Muslims believe only the Islamic understanding is the Truth, the one Truth!

It seems that many Christians will commit apostasy before moving to complete apostasy by accepting Isa of the Quran, and Muhamnad as the final revealer and prophet, so it will be for them Chrislam first and Islam later!

      • Flame blue

I am not understanding this comment. You surely are not accusing me of having a hard and repentant heart. If you don’t recognise me as being a Christian in service to Jesus with his Holy Spirit in residence, then God is not in you for the Holy Spirit recognises himself in everyone where he resides!

I conclude that l have misunderstood your post to me where you say ” because of your hard and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath”.

My original post was referring to my displeasure that a Muslim was given a platform to speak for and about Allah and condemn the Christian understanding of Jesus as God who became incarnate and did die crucified, and was risen again to life and is the atonement offering for Salvation. That l believe that Christians are submitting to Islam in allowing blasphemy against Jesus, is not evidence of a hard and unrepentant heart. That l said that these acts by Christians in their churches is allowing Muslims and Islam to have victory over them, is not evidence of a hard and unrepentant heart on my part!

I hope to hear that you did not accuse me of these things, but if you say you did, l pray that Walid Shoebat personally rebukes you.

        • Kevin Nicholson

“You surely are not accusing me of having a hard and unrepentant heart.”

Romans 2:5-6 comment was directed to Islamists.

          Peace in Christ.

Sincerely, I think that the first failure in new age “Christianity” is to give the women the same place of men. We have just to apply 1 Corinthians 14:31-35. Women talking in assembly is abomination in front of God and only tend to create chaos.
But seems to be that nowadays even the most traditional Christians are politically correct and influenced by gender ideology.

Thought I would post this I guess written by Radmil

I’m noticing that a lot of you aren’t graciously accepting the fact that your candidate lost.
In fact you seem to be posting even more hateful things about those of us who voted for Trump.
Some of you are apparently “triggered” because you are posting how “sick” you feel about the results.

How did this happen you ask?
You created “us” when you attacked our freedom of speech.
You created “us” when you attacked our right to bear arms.
You created “us” when you attacked our Christian beliefs.
You created “us” when you constantly referred to us as racists.
You created “us” when you constantly called us xenophobic.
You created “us” when you told us to get on board or get out of the way.
You created “us” when you forced us to buy health care and then financially penalized us for not participating.
You created “us” when you lied and said we could keep our insurance plans and our doctors.
You created “us” when you allowed our jobs to continue to leave our country.
You created “us” when you attacked our flag.
You created “us” when you took God out of our schools.
You created “us” when you confused women’s rights with feminism.
You created “us” when you began to emasculate men.
You created “us” when you decided to make our children soft.
You created “us” When you decided to rewrite school history books and remove the truth about our founders
You created “us” when you decided to vote for progressive ideals.
You created “us” when you attacked our way of life.
You created “us” when you decided to let our government get out of control.

“You” created “us” the silent majority.
You created “us” when you began murdering innocent law enforcement officers.
You created “us” when you took a knee, or stayed seated or didn’t remove your hat during our National Anthem.
And we became fed up and we pushed back and spoke up.
And we did it with ballots, not bullets.
    With ballots, not riots.
    With ballots, not looting.
    With ballots, not blocking traffic.
With ballots, not fires, except the one you started inside of “us”.
    “YOU” created “US”.
It really is just that simple. US The United States of American. We pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

    • Will you condemn both then?

      • Higlac

Most certainly I condemn the current Antipope and his supporters in the Romanist fold – and the same holds for the upper-leadership of all of “mainstream” Protestantism as they’re ALL guilty!!! [The ENTIRE upper-echelons of the Western churches need total cleansing including the full usage of excommunication and anathema including the complete prohibition of false “clergy” from ever entering any church – let them be totally treated as PROFANE people.]

Even some Orthodox (remember that “bishop” in VGR’s “consecration” in autumn of 2003?) are just as soiled and I’m calling upon all the Patriarchs of Alexandria, Antioch, Constantinople and Moscow to condemn the entire movement and all such false “clergy” complete with excommunication and anathema with their being forbidden ever to set foot in a proper-Orthodox church.

        • PaulF

He’s not an antipope, but you are right that the ecclesiastical masons and all-religion-goodists should be given a choice, repent or receive the order of the boot.

May i make something clear? so called Bishop Paul Peter Jesep is NOT Orthodox, nor is he a bishop, or his he under any Orthodox Patriarchate. They are schismatic renogade asshats pretending to be an Orthodox Church, in no way is the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church a Church or is it Orthodox, playing dress-up does not make you Orthodox. We broke relations with ECUSA becouse of it.
          http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2003/novemberweb-only/11-17-23.0.html

          • Higlac

GOOD!!!! – he however needs nevertheless to be excommunicated and anathematised. A formal act of PUNISHMENT and denunciation of him (Mr. Paul Peter Jësep – would it not be pronounced as Josep?) is an absolute necessity – and if the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church is involved, it needs to do the same on pain of being declared anathema in toto (whereby all its membership is excommunicated and anathematised to boot).

They then need to be declared out of communion with all four of the main Patriarchs (Moscow {that one no doubt is taken care of!!}, Alexandria, Jerusalem and Antioch). This problem has to be stamped out with the maximum force so that there be no doubt about that group’s schismatic and apostate status anywhere in the world.

It’s a bit rich that Queen Mary I, a Catholic to the end, was given the label ‘Bloody Mary’ as she was responsible for having put to death Protestants in the hundreds whereas her father, Henry VIII, and her half sister, Elizabeth I, had thousands upon thousands of Catholics put to death during their reigns.

      • Grandmere

Elizabeth I passed the Act of Tolerance. She saw her realm being torn apart. She was no saint but she was a wily queen.

        • Michellemaria

She was wily without a doubt. I understand she had a temper to match her father’s, a formidable lady. Though Henry always believed in the holiness of the eucharist this was one thing they differed on. Henry 1 – Elizabeth 0.

          • Fr Christopher P. Kelley, DD

Elizabeth did too believe in the holiness of the Eucharist!
            Her words:
            CHRIST is the Word that spake it;
            HE took the Bread and break it;
And what His Word do make it,

Elizabeth also insisted upon her right to keep a silver
Crucifix on the altar of her private chapel, despite all the fulminations of her Puritan detractors.
As she was given opportunity, she replaced Puritan-leaning
types with High Churchmen, laying the groundwork for the
Jacobean and Caroline Divines (Theologians), who were diligent students of the Early Fathers.
As early as 1560, there was even an effort made to seek
reconciliation with Rome, but Rome was not so inclined.

          • Grandmere

I wish more people knew these things. I still maintain that there will be a nuclear fusion of the Church before this is over.

          • Michellemaria

Henry vehemently defended transubstantiation and to deny it was punishable. On the other hand Elizabeth didn’t seem to hold this deep conviction. Catholics held her in suspicion and had little faith in her promises. Did she say things just to appease Catholics to avoid a rebellion? – she was canny. Didn’t she also make a promise on Mary I deathbed to bring England back under papal authority when she became queen but when the time came went back on her word? Bearing all this in mind is both she and her brother, Edward, were much influenced by Henry’s subsequent Protestant wives. Maybe what Elizabeth said and what she really believed did not always go hand in hand.

Not so fast, there, Joan! The Highlands were ” ‘Piskies,” or RC, true to the origins of Christianity in Scotland, while some of the lowlands followed the teachings of the “Swiss or Dutch Missions” (Calvinist).
Actually, the Church of England PERSECUTED the Scottish Episcopalians, and the “Penal Laws” (after the 1745 Rebellion) prohibited more than 5 Episcopalians gathering at any time! There are pictures of women bringing their newborns to the windows of the prisons, holding them up, so that Episcopal priests might baptize them through the window of the gaol (jail).
But that changed in the late 20th Century, when Modernism choked the life out of the Scottish Episcopalians. They (mostly) decided to conform to “this world.”

Deborah, this was not a Catholic Church. You are mistaken about that. You can go back to sleep now.

Chesterton said, He doesn’t believe in God will believe in everything. A nation who believes in everything and defend nothing is lost. Absolute values always conquer relative values. Europe believes in every fairytale of the modern man and doesn’t believe in survival, self preservation was once thought a high order desire, just not as high as being nice. To the Europeans I will see you on the other side, I expect you to show up in large clusters and groups early for your scheduled arrival, unless you pull your head out.

I’m utterly shocked at the brutal police state tactics in Scotland. The police there have absolutely NO right to in any way judge what a Christian Church teaches. Shame on them. They should be investigated and thoroughly castigated for their abuse of power and opposing freedom of religion. The koran is anti Christian and calls for the murder of what they call unbelievers. They’re haters. That the ;police are choosing to defend them makes one believe the scotish police are becoming anti)Christian bigots and haters. If anyone should be subjected to inspection it is they!
